Here's a summary of the current geopolitical situation in the game, so you can have an idea of what to expect. (I left some minor events out, but just go back in the game's newspaper and get a hang of it.)

- State of Yugoslavia:

Yugoslavia is led by a left-wing, nationalist government, the National Slavic Workers' Party, committed to the "rights of the Slavic peoples". It is currently at war with Italy following the non-compliance of the Italian Navy to remove its ships from Yugoslav national waters. Yugoslavia is also currently occupying the Bulgarian capital, following an invasion attempt by the Bulgarian Army. The Yugoslav Air Force had launched a series of air stikes in Bulgaria in support of civil movements that were violently suppressed by the Bulgarian army. In the past, Yugoslavia also intervened in Albania after humanitarian reports denounced ethnic cleansing in Kosovo, as well as in Austria following the Vienna hostage crisis and the Graz Crisis. Yugoslavia is part of the Slavic Socialist Coalition (SSC), which include the newly formed states of the Federation of Independant Republics of Austria and the Democratic State of Albania, both of which were under Yugoslav military occupation until recently. Greece entered a protection deal with the SSC. Even though it defines itself as "socialist", Yugoslavia operates a mostly capitalistic, but State-controlled economy, as Yugoslav industrial development is open for foreign investment but those investments are heavily regulated by the State. Yugoslavia is currently the #1 military power in the world. Nazi and Imperial Russian military leaders have been seen at Yugoslav military parades.

SUB took control of the Commonwealth after internal troubles within the United Kingdom led to the downfall of the British monarchy, which has since exiled in North America. Socialist Union of Britain has integrated Ireland into its territory through military force. It entered war with the American Alliance following a military response from the Americans to the invasion of Ireland. It also recently entered war with the Central European Alliance following the North Sea Conflict. It recently cut ties with the Yugoslav government after Yugoslavia initiated economic sanctions against SUB in protest to their escalation of the North Sea Conflict through a land invasion of Belgium.

The Southern States seceded from the United States of America in 1929, but made peace and developped a strong relationship with the government of what remained from the USA, now named the Northern United States, and subsequently formed the American Alliance. The CSA has demonstrated interventionism in its policies so far, not being afraid of directly implicating itself in international issues. The CSA is currently implicated against SUB in the British-American War. It invaded the island of Valetta, which had been ceded to Libya by the British government. Confederate forces also invaded the French province of Brest.

The Northern United States has shown a tendency for expansionism when it invaded Canada over logging rights and free trade issues. It also participated in the American Alliance's invasion of Portugal. It doesn't have much political weight in the World Forum as its government is secretive and seems to mostly follow Confederate policy, the CSA being its main ally, but it is a military power not to be underestimated.

- Libya:

Libya is a militaristic monarchy that recently annexed part of Egypt after the downfall of its government made the country unstable and dangerous. The CSA recently invaded the island of Valetta, which had been ceded to Libya by SUB. Libya is now therefore at war with the CSA, but the American Alliance as a whole hasn't yet declared war to Libya. A Libyan general has tried to convince Yugoslavia of the necessity to invade Greece, but he was discovered acting for his own interests after his family was kidnapped by terrorists located in Greece, so he was disgraced and arrested (see Ali Shaka Conspiracy). Libya has called for the formation of a Mediterranean Alliance, but no country has shown interest so far. It obtained the territory of Valetta from SUB through a diplomatic arrangement.

The Russian Empire is an artistocratic entity born amidst years of power struggles in Russia. It annexed Karelia in order to "stop the spread of communism". An ideological conflict and struggle over the control of Russia is currently breeding tensions between the Empire and the Communist faction in Russia. The Empire is largely self-sufficient economically speaking. It expressed political support for Socialist Union of Britain during the British-American War.

The Nazis seized power in Germany at the beginning of the 30s, and subsequently invaded Luxembourg by pure expansionism. Their reign was marked with anti-democracy and anti-Semitism, but the country went into radio silence and autarky in only a couple of years.

A new leader then rose and broke Germany's silence on the international scene, declaring its government intention to break free from the Nazi legacy. Border skirmishes have lead to the German invasions of Belgium, Denmark and the Netherlands, which sparkled the North Sea Conflict that now opposes Germany and its allies against SUB.

A revolutionnary group known as the White Sword has killed the Polish prince and overthrown the government, although loyalist forces are still fighting the White Sword in some parts of Poland. The new government installed by the White Sword has described itself as "Socialtipulist", following the ideology of Socialtipulism, which claims to take elements from both socialism and capitalism. The new Polish government has officially joined the CEA and is currently waging war against Estonia as a continuation of the Baltic Wars. As a member of the CEA, it is also at war with SUB.

After Modru XI became Sultan of Morocco, the country joined the American Alliance. Morocco has since invaded French West-Africa (see West African Conquests) and also launched an invasion of Algeria, without providing a motive. Although Morocco is part of the AA, it has not yet declared war on SUB over the British-American War.

Chakov, a mysterious leader of Finnish descent, has been elected in Sweden and promised to establish Sweden as a major world power. Sweden has joined the CEA and declared war to SUB in support of Germany over the North Sea Conflict.

No one really knows who is in control of Caucasus at moment. Following power struggles in Russia, there is no unified government controlling the totality of the Russian territory and the region of Caucasus went in the dark and seems to be an amalgam of different local tribal governments at the moment.

- Reykjavik Conventions (1934

Most countries have ratified an international treaty called the Reykjavik Conventions, outlining international law issues such as rules of war, human rights, national sovereignty and an international court of Justice. There is no multinational war going on at the moment, only some regional conflicts. The Reyjavik Conventions officialize the creation of the World Forum and the International Court of Justice. The Conventions have been ratified by Yugoslavia, Socialist Union of Britain, the Russian Empire, Libya and the Confederate States of America, but the only countries to officially sign it so far are Yugoslavia and the Russian Empire. Germany had expressed the Fürher's intention to participate at the Reyjavik Summit, but he didn't appear in public since the country plunged into autarky. The signatures of the ratifying nations are still being waited for.

- Irish Troubles/British-American War (ongoing)

When SUB annexed Ireland, the CSA raised doubts about the legitimacy of this action and initiated talks to "defend the rights of the British people". It proposed leaving Dublin under independent Irish control. When SUB refused, CSA forces landed in Galway to "liberate" the area, but were repelled by British forces. This sparkled a war that saw fighting between British and American forces in Ireland, Gibraltar and Hamilton Island (where the British Royal family was hiding). The Northern United States stepped in to support their Southern neighbors. After the CSA took control of Gibraltar and Hamilton Island, both the American and British sides gave in to the pressure from Yugoslavia to initiate peace talks. A ceasefire has been declared in early 1935, but British forces have since then attacked an American naval convoy and hostilities have started again. Since then, British forces have taken control of Lisboa, which was under American occupation. During the war, Yugoslavia has shown neutrality, while the Russian Empire expressed support for SUB.

- North Sea Conflict (ongoing)

After border skirmishes led to the German invasion of Belgium, Denmark and part of the Netherlands, SUB has condemned the invasions and launched a series of air strikes in the Low Countries to deter further German progression. The SUB government then issued its terms for the ceasement of British airstrikes, which included that German forces retreat from the Netherlands amd that Germany renounces to build offensive military installations in Belgium. If an agreement had been reached on those terms between Germany and SUB, the British had promised to stop airstrikes and not intervene in the German invasion of Denmark. After German forces took the Netherlands' capital, British forces landed in Brugge and liberated the totality of the Belgian territory. Poland and Sweden, as allies of Germany under the Central European Alliance, have since declared war on SUB.

- Invasion of Valetta/Eastern Mediterranean War (ongoing)

CSA forces launched a surprise invasion of the Island of Valetta, which was under Libyan control. The Confederate government hasn't issued any political statement on the matter, and Libya declared there was no justification for such action. The Libyan Navy has since sunk a CSA destroyer squadron in the Mediterranean. Yugoslavia has condemned the CSA intervention.

- Adriatic War (ongoing)

For years, Yugoslavia has claimed that the Italian Navy was violating Yugoslavia's national sovereignty by sending military ships into Yugoslav national waters without authorization. Italy has also accused the Yugoslav Air Force of violating Italian, Romanian and Bulgarian airspace in times of peace. In 1938, Yugoslavia issued an ultimatum to Italy, ordering Italian ships to leave Yugoslav national waters or else the Yugoslav Navy would board Italian ships and seize ports in Northern Italy. Following Italian non-compliance, Yugoslavia launched a military offensive. The war is ongoing.

- Egyptian social collapse/Invasion by Libya (ongoing)

Chaos had taken upon Egypt when its government stopped functionning, following the disappearance of the Egyptian monarch. Fearing that a violent regime might take control of Egypt, Libya sent in its own troops to take control of the situation. The Libyan military campaign is still ongoing. The remaining Egyptian forces had made some gains recently, but much those have been cancelled by Libyan counter-attacks.

- Moroccan-Algerian War (ongoing)

Moroccan forces have launched an invasion of Algeria without the Moroccan government justifying its actions. Yugoslavia has since condemned the invasion.

- Baltic Wars (ongoing)

Polish White Sword forces launched an invasion of Lithuania after the Lithuanian government captured and held Polish revolutionnaries. The Baltic Union, which comprised Latvia and Estonia, reacted to the Polish invasion by a joint declaration of war. White Sword forces have since invaded Latvia and part of Estonia. Only the Estonian province of Narva now stands against the Polish armies. No country has opposed the White Sword's actions in the Baltics.

- Bulgarian-Yugoslav War (ongoing)

After Bulgarian forces violently crushed civil uprisings in Pleven and Plovdiv, the Yugoslav Air Force launched a series of airstrikes in Western Bulgaria to divert government forces. When the Bulgarian Army launched an attempt to invade the Yugoslav province of Nis, the Yugoslavs repelled the invaders and marched on the Bulgarian capital of Sofia, toppling the Bulgarian government. Yugoslav high command has since ordered a ceasefire and is waiting for the reponse of the remaining Bulgarian military commanders.

- West-African Conquests

After a Moroccan freighter was attacked by forces from French West-Africa, the Moroccan government declared that French West-Africa was being under the control of diverse rebel groups and that no official government was in charge of the country, and retaliated against the attack by invading French West-Africa. Rebels in El Aaiun have since regained control of the province and declared their allegiance to Spain. Morocco declared that it would re-take El Aaiun, despite possible Spanish retaliation, but no Moroccan military action in the province has been observed since.

- Invasion of Portugal

In the midst of the British-American War, Confederate forces discovered a link between Portugal and interference with Confederate interests in the Caribbean. CSA and NUS subsequently led a joint invasion of Portugal, from which resulted North American control of Lisboa, Confederate control of the rest of the Portugese territories, and in the end the establishment of an American base of operations in Europe. Since then, British forces have captured Lisboa.

- Annexation of Karelia

In order to put an end to the spread of Stalinist Communist ideals in the Empire, Imperial Russian forces annexed Karelia, which was a breeding nest for Stalinists. This action received no backlash from the international community.

- Graz Crisis/Austrian-Yugoslav War (1935

The party of Aleksandar Skrigin, the Yugoslav leader, had long spouted a rhetoric according to which Slavic people were underrepresented in Austria and the Austrian soveriengty over "historically Slavic lands" in Graz was illegitimate. After the Vienna Hostage Crisis, protests from Slavic workers in Graz started, condeming the government's handling of the case and refusal to condemn the AADF's goals. When those protests were met with violent repression, the Socialist Slavic Unity Front of Austria (SSFUA) started organizing and contacted Yugoslavia for support, support which was provided when Yugoslav artillery and aviation opened fire from behind the border to support a surprise uprising in Graz. The conflict escalated and Yugoslav forces have invaded thte totality of Austria's territory. The rebels Yugoslavia have supported are associated with the European Socialist Slavic Unity (ESSU), a left-wing pan-slavic movement most active in Eastern Europe that also opposed Marxism-Leninist and Stalinist Communism. Since the end of the war, a referendum and free elections gave birth to the Federation of Independent Republics of Austria, which has joined the SSC.

- Vienna Hostage Crisis (1934

In the midst of repeated terrorist attacks against Austrian industries and tensions between Yugoslavia and Austria over the rights of Slavic people in Graz, the Yugoslav embassy in Vienna was taken by armed militants from the AADF (Austrian Auto-Defense Front) and a hostage situation ensued. After the militants negotiated safe passage for them and their hostages to Romania, a gunfight erupted between them and members of Austrian Special Forces. All militants were shot dead and only one Yugoslav hostage out of 23, an embassy secretary named Adrijana Milosevic, has survived. Her whereabouts are now unknown, as she was still held by Austrian secret police when the Austrian-Yugoslav War started.

- Ali Shaka Conspiracy (1932)

General Ali Shaka, commander of Libyan Western forces, was caught sending letters to the Yugoslav government trying to convince the Yugoslavs to support a Libyan invasion of Greece by making it appear as if it was the King's intention. He was disgraced and imprisoned by his country in 1932, then extradited to Yugoslavia in 1934 to face trial for his crimes against Yugoslav and international law. In 1935, he was found guilty of abuse of diplomatic privileges and conspiracy against national sovereignty, and sentenced to death.

- Kosovo Crisis/Annexation of Albania by Yugoslavia

When humanitarian organizations reported atrocities committed by the Albanian Army against Kosovar civilians, Yugoslavia stepped in to "defend its Slavic brothers and sisters" and subsequently defeated the entire Albanian Army and invaded all of Albania. Albania has since had a referendum and national elections, forming the Democratic State of Albania and joining the Yugoslav-led SSC.

- Canadian Logging Rights Crisis

A heated negotiation about logging rights and free trade led to an invasion of Canada by the Northern United States. The incident was criticized by the British, but there was a lack of response from the rest of the international community.
