[RPU] 1925 Onwards: Flames of War Roleplay

Consider if you will, a historical timeline in which our point of difference starts with the triple alliance and triple entente coming to the discussion table. The German Reich, retaining its monarchy only has minimal losses, holding German Angola, but being reduced to its Weimar republican shape. Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire dissolve as normal. However! An earlier stock market crash leads to an immense amount of ideological split within the earth, leading to civil wars all over the globe, Canada, America, and Brazil find themselves engulfed, while the Warlord Era continues in China, and the Russian Civil War continues endlessly. Can you find freedom in this timeline? Can you engulf the world into flames of war, or will you be cooked by its terror?

Base Rules:
- No Gold Usage. Usage automatically removes you from the round.
- 1 Day In Game = 3 Months in RP. This means 4 days=1 Year. The Game days will be divided into seasons, Starting Winter, 1925.

- I reserve the right to use Gold to eradicate those who violate the rules, or to penalize players for rulebreaks. Mind you, I have the capacity for lots of Gold.
- We will heavily Focus On Finishing Landswap First, meaning no official in character RP before we finish landswapping unless informed otherwise.
- Coalitions are to be “Empire Based” only unless specified otherwise, meaning, my coalition should be named the official name of my nation, have the official flag of my nation, and consist of me as well as my vassals, colonies, dominions and/or tributary states. I reserve the right to disband any coalitions not following the rules stated above. You may create multiple coalitions if slots are filled for one, just keep the flag and info same for all of them.
- NO Meatshielding under any circumstances. (Meatshielding is the act of purposely stacking infantry units onto naval vessels in an effort to limit or inhibit damage to ships)
- All alliances are to be made public. Military Alliances which are not made public will not be considered valid for calling in allies to war. To limit/stop the formation of super military alliances, I would like to ask you all to not form excessive alliances with those around you.
- Military Alliances must have an agreed upon end date announced, and can only last for up to 10 years.
- Be Respectful towards one another in all circumstances and situations. Being historical enemies or someone being mean in another round does not mean you can carry it here.
- We will be ranking players by their performance and skill within this round in coordination with The Roleplayers Union Player Ranking System to ensure that trolls and rulebreakers are either minor nations, not in the rounds, or repeat offenders are banned.
Civil War Rules:War Rules:
Types of Wars that can be declared:
Acquire Territory: This is the default war goal for all non-civil war nations at war. You may capture up to 6 provinces with this Wargoal.
Annexation: After a nation surrenders, this will occur if the surrendering nation is less than 6 provinces, or if World Tension has reached 100%.
Civil War: Exclusive to Nationalist/Republican Spain and all civil war factions, when fighting each other. Those using this war goal will receive the full territory.
Acquire Satellite State : Vassalizes the target nation. No provinces can be captured with this wargoal. Vassals cannot declare independence.
Install Democracy/Comintern: Converts target country into an independent democracy or a Socialist Satellite of a Socialist country.
World Tension Rules:
World Tension represents the overall level of fear and anxiety that exists among the nations of the World. The number displayed can be between 0% and 100%.
Total World Tension can be higher than 100%, but there are no additional effects beyond the 100% limit—the overflow instead acts as a "buffer" against events that decrease Tension.
The level of World Tension has several impacts on the roleplay, in particular allowing or limiting political decisions or more. Generally, the higher the World Tension, the more popular support nations have for taking belligerent actions.
Note: Civil War Factions are exempt from world tension during their civil wars. Each Civil War will generate +2 World Tension each year they continue.
[u]National Ideology Rules:[/u]
A Nation's Ideology is something that changes in time, that shifts towards or away from certain sociopolitical factors. In order to integrate such a system, an ideology list for all countries has been developed.
- A Nation's Ideology will change based on the amount of provinces. this conversion time has a cap of 5 years 20 irl days.
- Note that Dominions, Colonies or Puppets cannot change their ideology. You can enforce an ideology change as a wargoal and the player will not be able to change back until the shift is completed.
- Ideologies will provide benefits or a negative impact to your nation's ability to conduct diplomacy with other nations.
Communism
Communism is a form of government based on social equality and collective ownership of the means of production.
- Comintern Governments have no limitation on World Tension or diplomatic actions.
Democracy
Democracy is a form of government in which the popular vote governs, directly or indirectly. It is characterized by a commitment to civil liberties.
- Democracies Cannot Declare War on other Democracies.
- Democracies cannot Declare war until 100 WT
- Democracies cannot send Volunteers until 50 WT
- Democracies cannot Guarantee Independence until 25 WT
- Democracies cannot establish a formal military defensive alliance until 80 WT
Nationalism
Nationalism is a form of government characterized by authoritarian nationalism.
- Nationalist Governments have no limitation on World Tension or diplomatic actions.
Monarchism
Monarchism is a form of government in which a single person rules with absolute power, to benefit the nation.
- Monarchies cannot Declare war until 25 WT
- Monarchies cannot send Volunteers until 50 WT
- Democracies cannot Guarantee Independence until 40 WT
- Democracies cannot establish a formal military defensive alliance until 40 WT
