The New World Order - A CoW RP

If you want, skip to the 1960 section. The rest is just backstory.

The date is June 3, 1944. The Allies are preparing their assault on Normandy. One of the last German U-boats is returning from its foray in the English Channel. Captain Hanz Burgher notices that they have 1 torpedo left. He sees an undefended troop transport ship. The submarine takes aim, and fires. The troop transport sinks, with 509 deaths and 271 survivors, who are returned to England to sit the invasion out. As a result of this, the D-Day invasion fails. America is devastated, and anti war protests grow.

The date is November 6, 1945. Germany has just surrendered after the Soviet Union conquered Berlin. However, the results of the failed D-Day invasion affected all sides horribly. Germany has had time to improve its V-weapons. A low ranking Russian official, Nikita Kruschev, is killed by a V-4 rocket. Dwight D. Eisenhower is killed by a V-3. England is devastated by rockets, and its economy enters a major depression. Russia takes all of Germany, and the Americans can barely take France. The Iron Curtain descends even further west.

The date is August 8th, 1949. England and France have been saved by America economically. However, they lose a lot more than they gain. A major colonial revolution happens in Africa. All colonies are granted their independence, and the former colonial territories join together to form the African Union. Their nations, free of European influence, begin to prosper. Meanwhile, America begins to adopt the Truman Doctrine, staying away from the Soviets. Losing many of its trade partners, America enters a recession. Meanwhile, the Soviet Union begins to strengthen its grip over the Eastern Bloc. Poland, Germany, Yugoslavia, and Romania are all puppetted.

The date is December 12, 1952. A massive famine has occurred in the Soviet Union. After a major fire in Ukraine, the few farmers that are left lose much of their farmable land. Many begin to starve across the Soviet Union. NATO is formed, including the USA, Canada, Spain, England, France, Italy, Ireland, Michigan, Finland, Norway, Switzerland, Portugal, and Switzerland. Turkey joins the African Union.

The date is February 8th, 1955. The Soviet famine has begun to spread to the West. As its effects are felt in Spain, Italy, and Finland, the unthinkable happens. Stalin is assassinated. A coup begins by those who wish to end the famine and the bad effects of communism. It was initiated by German official Hanz Burgher, who now lives in the Caucasus. A civil war begins in Soviet Russia. Eventually, the coup leaders are granted independence, and a state encompassing the Caucasus and South Ukraine is formed. Africa begins supplying the Soviets with food, and they become economic superpowers. Spain and Italy consider joining them.

The date is July 4th, 1958. The USA’s economic recession deepens into a depression. Some NATO members began questioning whether joining NATO was the right choice. The communist famine finally began to end. The Soviet Union, now recovering from the war, began to look at their favorite punching bag, Finland. Finland, both scared of this threat and disillusioned with NATO, decides to join the Eastern bloc. Italy and Spain decide to join the African bloc, ready for some financial prosperity.

The year is 1960. Famine and disease are widespread. War and division between countries is increasing. Deaths increase throughout the world. NATO breaks up. As the USA and its last few allies face the growing communist bloc, nuclear war is closer than ever before. Africa has now grown to be an economic superpower. As the 3 sides begin to converge into 1 war, the future of the world is extremely uncertain. Who will succeed? We will see in our new RP: The New World Order.
