What year to start in Alternate 1914

What year should the roleplay start in? I originally thought to make it 1914 without the say of the people, but I decieded to try my hand in democracy.

Spellcheck is the epitome of human inginuity

The Crimean war didn't actually have a direct influence on WW1 though, it only increased tensions.
It heavily influenced war and combat in general, laying the groundwork for the bloody trench warfare. It also showed the Ottoman decline as the Russians ended up taking Ottoman land after the war anyway.

If you are serious, no. Borders would not work, this is not Napoleónic times. Just would not work out.

Now this is something more reasonable. I can agree to an idea like this!

Too much french wine... gives you funny ideas that British people have a "tea limit".

They own the Bosporus straight, and as in the last game, if you own a straight you can tax people who use it.

Great more taxation without representation

They do not. The Ottoman Empire owned it. Where are you getting this from?

@That polish guy V2:

There once was a Polish guy named That,Who thought football was called soccer, that thatWas the only game that was worth a damn,And that the British didn't know a thingAbout baseball, or any other sport,Except for cricket, which was a bit of a chore,But he was a good team player, and that's what mattered most,Even though his avatar was a manWho sank German submarines in the war,And he knew a lot about American history,But he didn't know much about Scottish poetry.

  • 1913, November–January 1914: The Liman von Sanders Affair, in which Prussian general Liman headed a mission to take control of the garrison at Constantinople, effectively giving Germany control of the Ottoman empire, which the Russians objected to

    Not quite right but as for alternate history

Just because they has some influence over the garrison doesn’t mean they could coup the Ottoman Empire at will. The Turks could easily oust the Germans at any time, and the soldiers would be loyal to the sultan. They also don’t control the taxes, resources, population and more of the city.

I myself have no idea what's happening exactly in those years other than wars...

If I were to choose without considering without knowing the history of that years, I'll consider myself a spectator...

I realized the power I held, Power! The power to rule! To make the world grovel at my feet!
We will begin with a reign of terror. A few murders here and there, murders of great men, murders of little men, just to show we make no distinction.
