LAND OF THE BRAVE AND HOME OF THE FREE
GOT ALL THESE AXIS STARIN AT ME
I am going to attempt to start a 1939 Historic World War Roleplay.
This is because from my experience and others', Roleplays can be very enjoyable, and the most recent attempts at creating RPs have failed, so I am creating this new RP separate from the previous ideas.
A Rules Thread will be published once there are enough players, ideally, I would like at least 20 people, ideally 28. Since some nations are not essential, and will only become available if there are more applications than countries.
Major powers or important countries will be limited to experienced players to ensure high-quality roleplay, however, you may still apply for these positions.
The Game will last for 70 days before automatically ending unless we agree to finish earlier than this.
I am afraid I have also reserved the UK for myself, sorry.
Blue text means their application has been accepted, and purple text means the applicant is confirmed as that country:
List of available countries:

APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED.
Colonies, such as India and Canada, will start the game as subservient to their master nation (UK or Japan), which will be able to boss them around, but if they slowly build up, and Roleplay properly they will be able to gain independence.
The game will start exactly (or as close as we can reasonably get to) as the world was in January 1939. So different countries start allied with each other, e.g. Italy and Germany
time inside the game will pass daily, e.g. each day is 6 months, as it is supposed to be by the research tree, this may be decreased to 3 or 4 month days because I am unaware of how long this HWW Map will last.
Countries will also be required to set their relations to other countries as shown in the graph below.

No, I am still taking America, but no rap battle. It’s not longer the 2010’s.
What does rap even have to do with any of this?Carking the 6th wrote:

I might as well just quit if I can't have Nationalist China since playing a smaller nation doesn't really interest me.
Especially the next month...I'm not too active here anymore anyway.
I want to take a break but ACAI just showed up and I'm going to win all the ACAI maps I'm playing on!
0 loss in ACAI!!
1 loss in...Doomsday...out of 4 games of DD....

Here's the current iteration of my "relations" chart (too big to make as table on the Forum) (feel free to criticise as it's not perfect; the aim is to be as accurate as possible
Notation of relations:
SHM - Shared map, ROW - Right of Way, TRD - Trade embargo, WAR - War. Peace by default.
Notes:
* - China and Tibet have Right of Way relations with several European powers through "treaty ports" or concessions which still applied in 1939. Except in the case of the Soviet Union (see Sino-Soviet Pact) these are unilateral. Similar case in Persia due to the Anglo-Persian Agreement.
† In case of bilateral relations of Poland with UK and France: Anglo-Polish agreement is only formally signed in March but cooperation and alliance negotiations were being made.
†† Although the Rome-Berlin-Tokyo Axis was ratified only in September 1940 a de facto alliance existed. Relations between Germany and both Romania and the Empire of Japan and were already strong since 1938 due to Ribbentrop's policies.
** In case of Tibet and Xinjiang, Chinese suzerainty applies
I did want Nationalist China, but it really depends. You did seem to lay claims to it first.Kadeko wrote:

I think European axis and Japan would not have share map. They didn’t coordinate much, did not truly work together, and kept a lot secret from each other. If they have share map, then Poland and the Allies who actually planned somewhat for a German attack should have it too. Another thing is that Persia should have ROW with the UK, right? As you mentioned the Anglo-Persian agreement, the UK had rights to much of Persian oil and had plenty of influence there, enough to make a combined invasion with the USSR pretty easy.Lord Crayfish wrote:

Resolution will be made: Empire of Japan and puppets (Manchukuo) will have ROW only with these powers at least in 1939. Good point.Carking the 6th wrote:

Poland would not have Shared Map with Britain yet if this begins in January, however they would by the end of Day One if it goes as in OT.
Thanks you, Persia not getting UK RoW is deliberate. Persia and the UK did not sign an equal treaty but a British hegemony in Persia. Britain had the right to survey and build railroads and invest in it. As you say pressure on Russia was another reason. This is more like the treaties between China and the western powers after the Boxer Rebellion.Carking the 6th wrote:

Yeah, sorry about that. As you can tell, I am quite inexperiencedLord Crayfish wrote:

@Zaktty Do we need to be historically accurate or we can just make our own stuff like the Cripps mission and Quit India movement?
That's what I'm wondering.Lt.Rohini wrote:

same, i asked that yesterday, im also wondering if it'll be ranked
I feel whatever course is chosen, we should have "factions". In the Cold War RP we did this. I think it should be repeated.
May I suggest the factions Axis, Allied, Comintern (not meant to correspond to doctrines really) and non-aligned?
Countries may change factions, but not without a good reason; a sound defeat e.g. Italy in 1943, or being attacked, e.g. the USA in late 1941, etc.
I am not sure what these groups ought to be. But this would add realism and prevent chaos. Just an idea.
