This is a thread to post newspaper articles to decide who should take a certain country when it is contested.
USA Competition:
@Carking the 6th , @CMDR. Wolf , @GeneralJames
You will compete for the country of the USA, there will be 3 rounds of articles, that way you each have a chance to improve your posts, and you may publish your articles at any time, as long as all other candidates have published their articles before you move onto the next round.
First Round:
USA Responds to German Invasion of Poland
Second Round:
The USA refuses to declare war on Germany and only focuses on Japan
Third Round:
USA Election results and what they will mean for the country
Germany Competition:
@TheZhukov and @Talvisota
You will use the same format as the USA Competition
First Round:
Germany announces alliance with The Netherlands
Second Round:
Germany declares war on France
Third Round:
Hitler is assassinated and what it means for the future of the Reich
Good Luck, I will judge the articles, and at the end I will hold a simple poll to see who wins!

Yugoslavia embargoes Italy
The prime minister has talked to the King of Yugoslavia today and convinced the King to trade embargo on Italy.
The king made a speech today 6 hours ago after the embargo was declared he said "We must protect our people, whatever the costs, but we must keep the peace as well. If Italy backs down its troops away from the Yugoslavian border, then we will as well. We are very concerned about our people and they have spoken, even though the Yugoslavian army has protected the Yugoslavian border we will be willing to back down if the Italian army does as well. If they don't answer we will embargo oil, metal, and access to our sea waters and ports, and we will not allow shipping as well. We ask for the government of Italy to back down and we will continue selling Oil, Metal, and shipping. We will also back down our troops as we said before. Goodnight my Yugoslavian people and prepare for what will come." -King NEPTUNE the Great.
We hope that we will continue this ever-lasting peace and also hope for Italy to realize what they are doing and give what to the Italian people, and the Yugoslavian people as well.

I know I'm late to this but I hope I can be confirmed as the Netherlands if it's still available. Here is my Netherlands article.
Dutch Government Celebrates National Unity and Prosperity
by the Amsterdam Gazette
January 27, 1939
AMSTERDAM - A wave of unity and prosperity swept the Netherlands as the nation embraced the new year with fervor and determination. Amidst the complexities of the international landscape, the Dutch government, guided by a steadfast commitment to peace and harmony, organized a series of events to honor the rich heritage of the nation and the unyielding spirit of its people.
Undeterred by the winter's chill, the Dutch populace wholeheartedly embraced the festivities, their hearts filled with a sense of camaraderie and national pride. The government, cognizant of the challenges that lay ahead, sought to instill a deep sense of patriotism and solidarity among its citizens.
A Spectacle of Unity
On January 7th, 1939, the heart of Amsterdam pulsed with the rhythm of the grand National Unity Parade, a magnificent display of the nation's diversity and strength. The parade, a tapestry of vibrant hues and resounding melodies, wove its way through the city's streets, drawing in a sea of enthusiastic onlookers.
Leading the procession were esteemed Dutch veterans, their weathered faces etched with the sacrifices made by previous generations. Clad in uniforms reminiscent of the early 20th century, they marched with pride, their presence a testament to the nation's resilience and unwavering spirit.
A Message of Hope
Prime Minister Anton Mussert, addressing the crowd at the conclusion of the parade, delivered a stirring message of hope and unity. "In these uncertain times," he declared, "we, the Dutch people, must stand united, as we always have. It is in our national character to seek harmony and prosperity, and that is what we strive for today."
The Prime Minister underscored the Netherlands' unwavering commitment to diplomacy and peaceful coexistence with other nations. "Let us remember," he concluded, "that despite the world's challenges, we must remain steadfast in our commitment to peace and cooperation."
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over Amsterdam, the city pulsated with the spirit of unity. The celebrations continued well into the night, the Dutch people from all corners of the nation sharing moments of joy and solidarity.
In these turbulent times, the Dutch government and its people have demonstrated an unwavering resolve to embrace unity, uphold their heritage, and strive for a peaceful and prosperous future.
