The game will being starting approximately at midnight tonight, that is 12:00 Greenwich Mean Time, which I believe is the same in UTC. Good luck, there is to be a short land swap between China and Japan, and Australia will annex New Zealand, this is to be ignored. Do not write anything in the newspaper, or produce or build or research anything until I have wrote an article to say the RP has begun. The code will be published in a private conversation. DO NOT GIVE THE CODE TO ANYONE ELSE. Under pain of being banned from all future roleplays. Make sure to get the right country too.
The only thing you may do is start setting your relations to those specified on the graph below:
many thanks.

Bruh I’m gonna become one of those jaded paranoid forum players if this type of stuff keeps on happening. I really liked the Cold War roleplay. Except for Crayfish, there wasn’t any spying and it was a military game. No web of alliances, no rules changes mid game, just 2 sides fighting and role playing. While I do acknowledge that it was not a fun experience for Car, the RP didn’t destroy anyone’s trust, except for Arta who was a literal troll. The Cold War roleplay was fun, at least for me. I think that the roleplay community needs to do some introspection. Maybe some of the mods should voluntarily step down for 1 or 2 rounds and experience the roleplay as someone who doesn’t have the power to change the rules.

we know, thats all you have been whining about the last few days, not what im talking about, dont think anyone betrayed me,
im saying this was the part in the RP where we have a cool nuclear war with everyone but you are just like nope, no one can have fun, you are always so boring.
and you have the worst comebacks.
the maflleman-foxina alliance have been acting like clowns in the forum pissing everyone off and i dont really care so i never say anything cuz i like all of them but now you are acting like clowns bringing it to the RP which is suppose to be a fun rare event for everyone and its starting to get ridiculous,
everything i was telling Tanke in our chat ended up being spot on and i feel bad for him, you guys praying on his nativity playing him as a fool, ask him, i was calling play by play of what you guys were doing but he didnt want to listen to the one person trying to help him see the lies
that was kinda my fault. I was too trusting. My default has been to trust people unless I have a reason not to and I have been trying to not let the roleplay make me a jaded and paranoid player.

And OMG we really need to reexamine whether joining wars instantly on the side of someone who you have share map with was an idea that made sense, especially because share map is not always publicly available info. This rule change was not announced well but from my perspective, it looks like a decision that was made specifically to facilitate the betrayal. I hope what I said doesn’t result in me losing mod but i need to share my perspective

Well no, that was always a rule. We count allies by if they have share map or not. It was like that by like the start of the game. Check the mod chat and you’ll probably see.

you are very trusting which is why i like you its refreshing compared to a lot of the twofaced players i meet in most of the rounds i play, and the ones in the RP that have shown who they really are

I'm taking a break from the game. I simply have too much IRL stuff going on right now. RPs require much attention, and I can't afford to give it that now. It's the only CoW game I have open right now, and I'm not planning on joining any new ones for a least a month or so. I'm very sorry. When I signed up for this, I had a lot more time for playing games, but that sadly is no longer the case. I wish you all the best of luck. (I'll check in on the forum pretty regularly)
edit: It is also worth noting that I should have probably stated this a lot earlier. I haven't checked in to the RP more than once a day for almost two weeks at this point.
Cool, do log in ASAP, so we can sort out your surrender LOL

I would like to stay neutral in this argument. But I must say. Some of what you said was valid. But you complaining about unrealistic armies is a bit rich. You played Venezuela, and rushed for nuclear weaponry. You are playing a country that doesn't have nukes to this day in real life. Not to mention the massive fleet of pure cruisers. 38 lvl 4's. Yes, I saw it. And no, at this stage I do not care about restricting information.
I find it funny how zakkty asking everyone to keep the rp realistic was also ignored. Just before the game started, he wrote an article asking everyone to make at least semi realistic articles. Not appoint Kangaroos, and make alliances with Emus. It is understandable why you are mad. But grow up. It's a game.
I agree that some of my RP stuff have been unrealistic but I think that those are inconsequential compared to the unrealistic decisions that actually mattered. In terms of what happened, I think that the betrayal was not a rule break, it was not a fun experience for those involved either. I don’t think that us mods were fully open about the rules.
And while I am not saying that any mods necessarily did anything really wrong, I think that it would give us mods more legitimacy in future roleplays for there to be a mechanism to remove a mod if the mod is not doing a good job, abusing power, or not being active enough. Power corrupts and while I think that the mods have done a decent job this RP, that it would incentivize us mods to do a better job if we could be held accountable. I was wanting to say this for some time but a way to keep the mods accountable to the players would prevent disillusionment amongst the players.
I am saying all of this as someone who is a mod in this and the 1991 RP. Me suggesting a removal mechanism is not an indictment of the actions of any mod this RP
Good Idea, but it must have over a 50% vote from other mods
As in we’d need 50% of mods to remove a mod?
I think that over the course of the game, it has been to easy for mods to make up rules to their advantage and not be transparent and to hard for the players to do anything about it.
We did not make up rules, we added them with agreement from other mods.

what? we had good relations till you started spying on our convo, and thats directly to you doing that,
you also abandoned Comandante Kong in Madagascar, i paid you and you probably didnt even send anything in the first place, you were always acting fake, but i know your tricks Zhukov, i saw through them everytime
4 Feb 2024, 05:32
That's a lie, I had subs there which would defend you if you landed under fire, and I offered to help you get him back, but you ignored me. And my job was to defend the convoys and not hunt down atatcking transports. I didn't even keep what you paid me even tho I had done half the work.
