1v1 matches, a new competitive game mode for Call of War

I think Call of War should have a new game mode: 1v1, on new 1v1 maps.

This way Call of War can become a new kind of Wargame Red Dragon.

The game mechanics and pace of Call of War are superb, and in many ways superior. But the team aspect means more often than not whether a game is won or lost comes down to whether the team you are in is good and active or not.

Sure, Call of War might have been intended to be played in alliances or with friends, but a 1v1 option will add a new dimension to the game and make it a kind of modern day chess, which Eugen's Wargame is, complete with ELO ratings and equivalent military rankings.

One of the fun things about Wargame is that noobs are ranked as Private, and top players are ranked as General, based on ELO ratings. So, over time, your rating and rank might rise or fall depending on how well you play. Just as there are Grandmasters and International Masters in chess, there might be Generals and Brigadiers in this war game.

Also, ideally, I think the maps for 1v1 should be especially made and not necessarily based on the map of the world, or even on the map of a region of the world. Thus, the terrain can be fair for 1v1, and refreshed now and again.

The idea is to have a modern chess game that is an online war game.

There used to be a 1v1 map, the English Channel map. It was removed because of a lack of players. I doubt this game mode will get many players.

There is an ELO system in this game, but you must be in an alliance. I know you want a 1v1 ELO, but again, these kinds of maps don't get many players, and this category is very niche(at least in the CoW community).

You can be a "general" in this game, by ranking up in the in-game level system. This DOES differentiate new players from seasoned players.

I do like the idea of 1v1 maps and had a lot of fun with those on Supremacy in the USA vs Mexico 1v1 scenario.

I think the English channel map wasn't that fun. I believe a different map might be better though!

The problem with the Channel map was that it was separated by sea, which basically made it into a naval game which was impossible to win for either side. There should be new map on some U-shaped island, with an AI at the bottom of the U.

Actually try reversing that, like Finland against Sweden, and an AI Lapland.

Bytro is unlikely to make ANY new map

1v1 Map would be for people who want to challenge one another or practice. If the other person went inactive then you win!

Yes if one player goes inactive, then he or she forfeits.

I think by introducing 1v1s, Call of War might become an eSport, and thus attract more players!

Most people play chess not so much because it is a fascinating game but rather because there is glory in winning a game or a tournament, and achieving a high ELO rating. The ranked scene in Wargame RD is also like that.

I think there should also be some kind of replay summary at the end of a game, so that players can post a day by day strategic view summary, for instance, on Youtube or the like to show off a game or talk about it. The publicity would bring more players to Call of War.

Alternatively, the eSport version of Call of War might be super swift. This would enable players to play live in Twitch or the like in front of spectators.

And then, once the 1v1 scene is established, 3v3s or 5v5s etc. could be introduced. 5v5s as in two teams of 5 in one game against each other. Thus, Call of War might even become a professional eSport, with prizes and team sponsorships.

Sorry to break it to you but Call of War is too slow to be on Twitch. Maybe if the 1v1s are Swift Strikes?

Bytro doesn't want to take gold out. With gold, it can never be an esport. Case closed.
