a few suggestions

it would be great if standard infantry could be upgraded/refitted to motorized or mechanized infantry after it has been researched. this would only take place in cities where all prerequisites are met. cost would be the normal cost of motorized or mechanized infantry. time for refit is debatable but considerably less than building a motor/mech unit from scratch/ also this would not take up a unit building spot. while unit is under refit, it will be immobilized and have drastically reduced attack and defend value.

it would be nice to see AA guns, AT guns and artillery receive a small movement buff when attached to motorized or mech infantry in 1:1 ratios. anything less than 1:1 and movement buff is lost.

katyusha rocket/nuebelwerfer sp. rocket artillery

land/sea minelayer/minesweeper destroyed after laying mines or clearing mines. give the minesweeper considerably more hp.

rivers and bridges with engineer units to build pontoon bridges and/or repair existing bridges would drastically improve the overall strategic gameplay

best i can think of right now that isn't mentioned in the sticky

It's understood that, with a single infantry being a regiment, that they have sappers and engineer squadrons within the regiment.

I do like the idea of the AA/Arty being "attached" to motorized infantry for a speed buff when paired not more than one towed gun per motorized unit.

Free Time looks good on me

That would certainly make conventional towed artillery a lot more attractive. I typically produce 10 or 12 towed arty regiments in the early part of the game, but I stop producing them when self-propelled arty becomes available because SP arty can keep up with my other motorized/self-propelled units. It's always a challenge to get towed arty into position to support a fast-moving attack, and I have often hit the "forced march" button in desperation so my towed arty can get into position in time to support an attack. Otherwise it's slower than molasses in December.
