just program the AI to think the whole map is water and it will be fine (and very aggressive)
A simple proposal to make AI play more competitive
I know, making a game AI opponent is hard, and generally not worth the effort.
This is not a proposal to make the AI "smarter", or anything difficult.
The idea is simple: limit what the AI can build.
Most things should be off the table, because the AI doesn't know how/when to use them.
So remove the "temptation" to build those things.
Air bases, air factories, anything air related? Cut it out. The AI can't use them.
Propaganda, conscription? Cut it out. The AI doesn't need them.
Most research should be cut off. Rockets, planes, anything complicated, just cut it out.
If we can't have a vastly improved AI (which is hard) just make the current AI suck less.
How do you make it suck less?
Limit the mistakes the AI can make by limiting what it can build.
Make the AI crank out infantry, AT guns, armored cars, subs.
Units that are quick to build and easy to use.

Oh most definitely the AI's need some super blood.
1) Give them characters/personalities/alignments so to speak.
2) Give them missions.
3) Increase their troop strength at the start of the game.
4) Let them achieve higher techs faster than players
5) Let them produce resources much faster than players
6) Let them create coalitions
7) If they use certain techs such as planes make them use them, not just parked and defend as an infantry is what @z00mz00m is basically trying to say.
Though I think resource production is way way to low. And especially manpower/
But running AI's has been a headache for so many strategy games. I could site Civilization or Humankind as great examples.
But definitely not limited to those games.
What I do enjoy about CoW is the hands on many techs and designers have here.

Very good suggestion, should be much easier to implement than a complete overhaul of the AI (that "I" surely stands for something else than "Intelligence", right?)
Haha right, and would greatly improve the game to be honest.
Way more competitive
And those that like to play a more slow stretched out game, this would add to that factor
There might be a problem on the resource market though. The AI already tends to sell most of the rares they're producing, leading to price drops; this will only make it worse. We shouldn't create a situation where industry on rares is unnecessary because it is easier to buy it on the market (at least in the early and mid game). Another drain of rares from AI is needed.
The way AI countries use resources is definitely a problem. They would be better off not trading, and simply using the resources they have to build what they can. Another case where restricting their options limits the damage they can inflict on themselves through sheer stupidity.
I would rather see the AI build flying bombs or rocket artillery with their rares, not air fields. And for the love of gaming, please don't let them build propaganda or recruitment centers. They need the food and the goods to pump infantry and ordnance units.
Yeah this is great and just one more thing, please make AI fights each other as well ![]()
To achieve that complex AI it would take a lot of time and code. I doubt that browser game can handle that. Making AI do the pre programmed actions and making it to make their own decisions is oo soo different.Moss20 wrote:

Player/AI communication and cooperation is ,in my opinion, impossible to achieve in this game anytime soon.
AI that control a nation with 1/3 city provinces and lack resources cannot progress much, they can only do soo when take over a nation from inactive Player and when they do soo, they are already 2/3 days behind real Player.
This is well thought true suggestion.z00mz00m wrote:

Leav them with industry, Tank plants, barracks and ordnance.
And when it comes to production and research, focus on defensive units like infantry, militia, tank destroyers, AA, artillery and armoured cars.
And if they start with navy or naval base limit production to submarines and destroyers.
Save current code for airforce and secret branch units use and production and when it get's improved to be effective enough add it back
