Nonsense, air superiority is not the only way to win this game.
Even is AA is camo still easy to spot in a plain..
Maybe camo rough terrain, but you can also camo tanks and art guns in rough terrain as well..
Air superiority win this game , aa acts like def for ur main force . so basicaly if u lose the air u are forced to keep ur troops all toghether else theyr just gonna die .
AA shoud be invisible , in ww2 aa were well camuflaged , and aa shoud be able to engage air , not just defend

Yeah, you can't camouflage a convoy of trucks dragging AA guns either.
do you think aircraft could even hear them?Quasi-duck wrote:

like recon planes, maybe just nonsense from a few older WW2 movies, I have watched..

Wait, what? Can the pilots, in the planes, hear the AA guns moving on the trucks? In recon planes?oceanhawk wrote:

If so, that is a bit of a lie. Recon planes just had cameras, no guns or microphones.
It wasnt the AA, it was the tanks I thinkQuasi-duck wrote:

yea the older ww2 ones, they stuck their heads out the window, not like V-2 aircraft..
I think it was in the battle of the bulge.

Do you have references, sources, etc.? I've never heard of something like this, and to be honest pilots actually hearing enemy armour coming sounds a bit odd.oceanhawk wrote:

I will take a look, Im pretty sure they were hearing things or somethingQuasi-duck wrote:

Im thinking it was bulge might have been something else..
anyway, back on topic
AA

Thanks.oceanhawk wrote:

I don't think there is much else to say.oceanhawk wrote:

It bugs me, ever few minutes people blame the units for there losses, when their 32 stack of every kind of unitQuasi-duck wrote:

get destroyed by a few tac bombers..
should spend more time thinking, less time complaining or trying to add more AA..
like what the hell will that do? we already have a bunch of AA units

Yeah, I think maybe some MANPADS would be nice though.oceanhawk wrote:

Did they even have them in ww2?Quasi-duck wrote:

plus that would already be carried in the infantry, remember infantry has snipers, etc combined

No, they didn't have them in WWII but they certainly did not have nuclear ballistic missiles either. You got me on the second part though, I've used it to put down snipers so I concede.... for nowoceanhawk wrote:

This post is right up there with "Spies, gold and AT Guns can win any match."
An air force can be completely bypassed, it means nothing: SPAA and AA are so easy to produce its virtually impossible to gain full control of air, unless you've struck every enemy city with nuclear rockets.
TankBuster is right on this one. I believe that Funske meant to say that air power dominates AI. Much harder to use vs. players. If you're bunching your units and travelling with aa guns, it means you're incredibly slow, and I'll just rocket you to death. Starting a lvl 2 or 3, rockets can't be intercepted by aa anyway. A better way is to just blitz airports. Planes will only be able to get 3 or 4 hits on my block of tanks force-marching towards an airport. AI doesn't do this, and apparently neither does Funske, seeing as how he travels with the 2nd slowest unit in the game attached to his main force.
yea go ahead , rush my airports , u might take some , if u got enough tanks , bu ur gonna just suicide ur troops , and u gonna suicide a lot of tanks , cuz u want take any airports with 2-3 tanks. and if u take that airports , who cares , i got 20 behind it , and ill take it back after ur troops will die , and i will repair it , or just rebuild it . You played a lot against bots lately , didnt ya ?Tygus wrote:

My point is that it's a support unit. You need units in front of them. I'm sure you would do just fine against 2-3 tanks. Air units are great (except strat bombers, strat bombers are terrible, and naval bombers are situational) and you should build them. But neither bombers nor aa are the be all end all of the game.
Most people would rather have a stack of Tac bombers, than a nuke..Tygus wrote:

AA units, are useless behind the units, they need to be stacked with them most of the time.
Stat bombers, are brilliant, a few of them, can fly from anywhere to anywhere in a few hours, and they can destroy a reactor in a few passes.
Naval bombers, are great, have you actually ever seen them against convoys or subs?
I admit, that it takes a good few of them, to do damage to a few stranded ships, and you prob wouldnt send them against a fleet, that is for sure

My point was that aa shoud insta dmg aircrafts that gets into theyr range , not only if aircraft attacks them , or after 15 mins of patroling
