Add more damage to militia in mountains

First: That add for militias in forrests/hills is great-first time this unit becomes usefull.

And it makes sense: the militia is formed by people of the region, these know their forrests and hills. So why not also giving an add in mountains? The mountainppeople know the terrain of the mountains better than the intruders too.

So Switzlerand can first time be well guarded in this game, like it was, atm its just an easy target ;)

Sure, they know the area well, but a mountain range is still tough territory to fight in, especially for the untrained militiamen. They know a forest and hills better, but that's a much more forgiving terrain, not to mention this would be a kinda broken unit if we did add this, so I'm fine as is

"Honor? Glory? There's no point in speaking to a killer who indulges in such nonsense."
"It's a crime we call victory, paid for by the pain of the defeated"

Unless you mean a less substantial boost, like +25%, which would be fair, its just every other unit gets a debuff, so it balances out if they just don't get one

I agree 25 or 50 but not 75.

And yes, mountain are rough, but its of use to know the landscape, an if they grew up they know how to climb/march the mountains up their whole life an where to hide etc.

A good ambusch can even untrained soldiers bring into a big advantage.

Militia is made to be weak and pathetic, and that's how they should stay.

I've taken countries with militia, they are awesome.

so have i, but they are still weak. What makes them useful is you can raise an army of them almost instantly.

Exactly. Maybe if they just get a boost in core provinces? E.g. I may not live in Dublin but I know it better than New York.

I vote towards just dropping the 75% boost in varied terrain and giving 50% to all except plains and mountains which get a 25%, but only in the core provinces

I disagree, militia should have increased power in home territory and decreased power in foreign nations.

This makes no sense. Hiding in a French building will be the same as hiding in an Irish building.

Okay, I suppose, but if in foreign territory it should at least go back to normal strength.

Nope. I've climbed trees in both Ireland, Wales and Scotland. Spain too. All were similar.

But militias know their way around in the home territory, and not in foreign territory.

Same with inf, LT and any other unit. Doesn't mean they are worse.

Militias are the people, though... they do not have professional training on attacking and defending.

The real reason should be patriotism and the likes. They have no qualms with fighting and dying for their homeland, but marching to other places is kind of ehhhhh. Take the War of 1812, American militia fought like hell but refused to march onto foreign land, as "their business is their home."
