Add More Graphics / Visuals (Battlefield & Gore)

Hello! I have been playing this game for almost six months, and one thing that I think this game could really improve upon is the lack of graphics and unique ingame visuals.

I also play FPS games like Valorant and Call of Duty, and in those games, there’s lots of interesting graphics and high quality visuals, including gore, that make the ingame experience more exciting. I know that in Valorant there’s a “Family Friendly” setting that turns off the gore if you flip it. That way you have more control over what you see in game.

So back to my suggestion for the game. I think Call of War should implement more graphics into their game. So how to do this? We could have a new mode, maybe called “Battlefield”, that would take the player to experience what it would be like to see a battle happen in real life. Here’s how that could work: When units engage in melee combat, if you click on one of the stacks in combat, there would be a new button next to the command orders buttons, called “Battlefield Mode”. When the player clicks that button, they would be transported to the battlefield. For example, if a Medium Tank unit is attacking an Infantry unit in a forest province, they would see the Medium Tank rolling through the forest, shooting at infantry hiding under rocks and behind trees that are grenading the tank. And if a Paratrooper unit is landing and mobilizing where an Anti Air gun is present, they would see the Paratroopers parachuting down from the plane, shooting at the Anti Air guns in the air, while the Anti Air guns try to shoot the Paratroopers out of the sky. We could also allow the player to enter Battlefield Mode for ranged attacks. Let’s say the player’s Armored Car on the coast is being bombarded by an enemy Battleship stack. The player would click on their Armored Car unit, and they would be able to see the “Battlefield Mode” button. When they click it, they will see their Armored Car either moving or standing still, depending on the orders given, while shells from the Battleship stack pound the unit. Battlefield Mode would also be available for Naval and Air battles as well. And for a nuclear attack, they would see the city that is perfectly fine, then the Nuclear Bomber appears out of nowhere, the screen turns black, and a few seconds later the player will see the city in ruins.

Similar to Valorant, there could also be a setting in Call of War that would control the amount of gore that the player is exposed to when they enter the Battlefield. If it is set to “No Gore”, the player won’t see people dying, or bloody carcasses. If it is set to “Show Gore”, then the player WILL get to see bloodwounds, mutilated bodies, and more. Preferably, the player will initially be able to customize this setting during or immediately after their Tutorial Mode. That way, players who aren’t expecting to see gore won’t be shocked that it comes on screen.

I think a Battlefield Mode would be a great way to improve the game by adding long-awaited new graphics and visual features, while making Call of War more similar to other war-inspired games like Call of Duty.

This all seems very expensive and difficult to animate though, and the shareholders wouldn’t gain enough from it… cool and all, but capitalism seems to get in the way

Completely inappropriate for a higher level (Bn, Rgt, Bgde) game.

CoW is already overly tainted with 'visuals" that obstruct the playing field,

the recent 'upgrade' only made the situation worse.

Interesting idea, but CoW isn't nearly big enough for something like that. I'd prefer to see something gameplay-related reworked. It doesn't serve much of a purpose, and I think that simply implementing more unit models would be a better way to make the game more detailed.

Good suggestion, but I don't think Bytro has the resources to do something like this right now.

Also, WRECK IT RALPH

Stay Sweet!

I have suggested something similar in the past for improved sprite graphics, but the general consensus here is that Bytro doesn't have the time, resources, or reason to implement this. I believe S1914 had something much like this for provinces where a certain tab would display all the buildings in a city, but I believe it was removed as the switch to mobile devices required massive downgrades on graphics. Don't worry, in many years from now phones will be as powerful as computers are today so there will be better and smoother graphics.

Then again seeing how phone technology seems to be stagnating…

The capitalist scum! How dare they oppose the fulfillment of out dreams just for the sake of economic well being. Glory to the Union!

Name brand products may be stagnating visually, but they are still developing new technology all the time. I am not a marketing or technology expert but it just seems that there is no current demand for advanced applications to be used on phones. Tablets are becoming less prevalent, and the products coming on top are PC's and phones. PC's are viewed as stationary, usually for gaming or intensive programs, but they are powerhouses. Phones are for on the go, but it looks like all of the software and programs from tablets and laptops are being shrunk onto phones. Again, I could be wrong since I am no expert but I am very confident that the smartphone industry will continue to expand. Every year I see weird new phone designs that have potential but they just don't fit the mainstream right now. Who knows, the future is not predictable.

so making call of war a arma server?

Bytro would need to make CoW more streamlined and appealing to the general gaming community. I don't see this happening for at least 2-3 years.

Happiness is more important than the economy! We should work hard and salute our portrait of comrade Lenin! Glory to the Union!

Great idea! I totally support adding this.

If bytro added this, I bet it would be better than HOI4

Overall a pretty good ( but slightly unrealisitc, for now at least) idea, but I don't think that Bytro would be up for this part. Even if you could turn it off, CoW has a different audience to Valorant and CoD that maybe aren't as good with technology, as I think there are quite a few older ppl on Call Of War, or teenagers like me that suck at computers. If everyone knew how to navigate their way through every settings menu of each game they play, then yeah, maybe. But..... it just isn't really like that. Cool suggestion tho.
"Imma play CoW to calm down" - Literally nobody ever

Doesn't really add anything to a game that is about commanding battalion-scale units which stack into divisions.
