Unfortunately nobody wants lend-lease...
Maybe there could be some type of feature to trade research instead?

Nah, allow that and someone will find a way to exploit it, unfortunately.
This makes sense, why couldnβt you do it? Perhaps some sort of limiting factor so you canβt just have basically 4 research slots, and it could work.Commander Schleicher wrote:

I think it's fine the way it is, but if they were to add this, they could do it the same way they do with provinces and prevent people from trading more than one lot of completed research a week (I know, it's once a day for provinces, but you can capture huge amounts of those in one day and most of the research worth trading takes at least 12ish hours.)
Actually I have a crazy idea...
Use spies to steal researches. Or maybe have them steal sections like blueprints so that way they won't be as crazy expensive and you can research other things as well.
Isn't the latter what supply drops are for?
Make it a rare thing that happens with mil sabotage and it actually would be funβ¦ it just has to be rare enough that you canβt spam 10 spies and get someone elseβs entire tree!
That is what I was thinking. They already do a good job of making players want to expand and attack, we shouldnβt make them less useful.Lady Aragosta wrote:

No, as blueprints are a cross-game thing, while spies are only supposed to produce single-game consequences.Commander Schleicher wrote:

I said "like blueprints," not to have them act exactly like each other. Supply drops are literally ass, they do absolutely nothing even in the first few days. My idea was to have spies be able to have a daily chance to steal a research of a unit of another player. They did it plenty of times throughout WWI, WWI, and the Cold War. It wouldn't be guaranteed either, and the chance would be so low with so many researches that even spamming spies would be useless and drain your economy.
What do you mean? Supply drops give large amounts of resources that are crucial in the early game. I also never spent a gold yet have all elite units, thanks to them. They are very helpful!
In my opinion, supply drops suck. Yet some days ago I recall you saying that it was difficult to upkeep researches, now you claim that it's easy?
'Upkeep researches'? This is taunting me in its ambiguity. Please explain.
I mean, there's no literal 'research upkeep' and there are several things you could've meant.
Like constantly research things? I donβt remember anything of that sort. Either way they donβt have anything to do with that. They just give blueprints and resources, while encouraging you to attack. Nothing wrong with any of that!
They don't encourage me to attack. Also I mean "research upkeep" as constantly researching units. You don't want to have lvl. 1 infantry on day 10 would you? Espionage is kinda worthless besides it's army reveal and diplomacy spying. Making them able to steal researches would make spies way more exciting.
I never have a problem keeping up research⦠can you quote where I said that? Either way it works for me and others so there is no reason to remove it. Stealing research would not be too bad though.
