This is not acceptable.
Are these new popup ads on the right side of the screen going to be a regular occurrence now?
I've been here for two months but will be leaving if this is the case.

Sites use ad following. Sites you've visited regularly "Attach" to you and follow you around. Simply ask the site that has "Attached" to you to "Not track" and you woes should be over.
I have never been to the site (www.edx.org) much less been there regularly.
Perhaps I misstated - It is not a "pop-up" but rather a banner ad. Right hand side of the Call of War page.
I can click to close it but it will come back in 5 minutes.
It just started this morning and (thus far) on only one of my games.
Oh yay! Now it's on another game.
Clearly this is a new revenue tool for the site.
I have no interest in being advertised to while I try to concentrate on my game.
I wish the site luck in the future but this is no longer for me. I'll finish out my current games in respect to my fellow players but I will not be starting any new games.
It happens to everyone, live with it it's what everyone else has managed to do. It's even in 1914.
I don't like that it resizes the page but meh, whatever. If it will support the game I think it's fine.

2) Live with it - No, I think I made clear that wasn't happening
3) Its what everyone else managed to do - Those that stay
4) It's even in 1914 - Never played it.
Well then leave, if you can't handle an advert on your screen you'd better go back to call of duty.
I have little to no problem with the constant "buy Gold" campaigns and other entreaties made at log in. I understand CoW has to keep the lights on.salbalkus wrote:

However if they have to rely on ON GAME advertising then they have crossed the line. Either their business model is broken of they are very greedy.
"This tank brought to you by Walmart....."
I've always resisted Adblock (see previous post) as I realise ads are necessary to pay the bills. Sadly, the advertisers and sites displaying the ads are their own worst enemies in this regard.SniperDragon142 wrote:

Is that where fine posters like you earn their chops?
I don't like call of duty, unlike someone....

Thanks for the helpful advice.
This isn't helpful? Lol.comrade dave wrote:

Sorry Dave. You strike me as a fanboy who drank the Kool-Aid long ago.
The game couldn't possibly be a problem so it must be the poster.
A "Don't let the door hit you" sort of poster.
What's cool aid?
Well you can always just whitelist the pages you wish to support. Only takes a few clicksbooter33 wrote:
