AI Diplomacy Improvement

  1. Trades with AI: Exchange any amount of resources for another type which would be in accordance with the current stock market price.
  2. Puppet States: Only applicable to small/default AI. If your popularity becomes high enough with the country, or the AI randomly surrenders during wartime, it will share map with your country, and some or all of its units will be able to be moved by the player. You could also persuade them into declaring war on other countries.
  3. Foreign Aid/Buffers: If an AI country is fighting a rival, you can spend resources, use gold to speed up production, and potentially give orders to the AI to fight more effectively to weaken the enemy and help fight your rival. Or if an AI country separates you and an enemy, you can support them in declaring war against the enemy and fund their war effort, possibly also being able to occupy their provinces peacefully to retain a non-aggressive border.
  4. Lenient Relations: AI diplomacy is way too strict, and they serve no purpose in the current game except act as a nuisance. All of these features would be useful early game, as AI generally loses any strength or purpose unless a strong country goes inactive. I think that AI rules should be more lenient, there's no way to not be declared war on except by being neutral the whole game which is impossible. Even giving share map, the AI will still declare war, yet you can't even negotiate peace or trades in any way. I get how it can help you strategize against AI and learn proper defense, but it's such an empty way of doing it and having AI being tools would make it way more strategic and fun in my opinion. I'm just throwing all of this out there, and everything is open to discussion. I would argue it's one of the most important problems in the game.

Ideal AI should only exist to facilitate combat between real players. Personally I wish AI would either be a push over or surrender per boundary lines between real players.
