This is an interesting idea - I donβt agree with all of it, but AI diplomacy is certainly overdue for an update!
AI Diplomacy Overhaul
Please read all - Small AI countries in this game are trash and they add no experience to the game. First of all, I think that the popularity threshold for diplomatic relations should be lower. Possibly have AI give you share map at 70% rather than 90%, if you even declare war on one nation you are instantly #1 hated. Also, your nation's faction should impact popularity. For example, I am Axis Germany yet my most supportive nation is in the Allied doctrine, which absolutely doesn't make any sense. It should be that each doctrine has a higher popularity with other nations of it's type. I also suggest we add the ability for them to become puppet states or buffer states if popularity is high enough. For example, an AI nation that borders you is able to give share map which it will automatically be incorporated into a coalition or an unofficial pact if you go solo. I also think that you should be able to trade (small) resources with AI. Another great idea I heard goes with the puppet state aspect which goes through espionage. Basically, you can pay an AI nation to influence their diplomatic relations and possibly go to war with another nation. Late game obviously this would not be of much use, but early game it would make things way more fun.

What would you suggest I change to the suggestion?SamPGS_17 wrote:

Maybe actually MAKE a suggestion instead of just throwing some words into the air for the 1000th time?user41089881 wrote:

What did I do? It's meant to be a discussion post as well, you can contribute to it as well. I'm not as experienced in the game as you and others. No need to be salty man.K.Rokossovski wrote:

He just means make some specific suggestions for changes, rather than generalised ones like in the OP. Do you have any ideas? Iβm sure the community would love to hear themuser41089881 wrote:

When popularity reaches 100% (very, very rare), You should be able to offer Union (you annex them).
Some Ideas:
- AIs should join Coalitions if popularity with all members is over 70%, the 3-4 nation limit would be for players only
- You should be able to trade with them, the popularity level being the chance of them accepting
- As part of espionage, we should be able to fund rebellions (Only AIs though, I have made a suggestion on this already: Foreign Aid to AI
- Perhaps lend-leasing units? Only in some games though
- More ways to improve popularity
Very good ideas, I will edit the thread.
In what world will you ever be able to reach 100% at all?Zaktty wrote:

CarKing the 6th of the Abrahamic Caliphate
I like the lend-lease idea, but I feel it would easily be exploited. How could we make it a viable feature to suggest?Zaktty wrote:

Cap on how many units can be sent per day, and a cap on what level they can be, so they should be similar level to what the AI has researched.
Good idea, I was thinking maybe a cap like you said similar to trading provinces.Zaktty wrote:
