What this thread could put forward as a collective is

Start with escort carriers (USS Bismarck sea/ HMS Attacker)

First graft of the AC have weaker health to simulate wooden flight decks

Upgraded versions more health to simulate an armoured flight deck

Cheaper than a BB but more expensive than a cruiser

butter ball bill and Pablo22510 I'm looking towards you for ideas

Bear in mind I can. Tweak the final product if we decide we don't want one thing, want something else, to then put forward as an idea to the devs

Guys, I noticed in the 'Achievement' section, it talks about 'airplane carriers"

I think we all know what this means...

I said at the start they were going to put them in.

I didn't know they had the achievement out already, i thought it was just confirmed by word of mouth.

The cost of an AC should be on par with the BB, even though the BB look heavy the planes on the AC offset this with munitions, fuel and other supplies for the very large crew and pilots and how frequently they are used for air superiority, if the AC is cheaper then the BB then that's really pushing it too far, since you will have the advantage of air.

For stats the AC should have 0 value on ships, subs, and planes and used only as a mobile airport, for the planes I think a maybe around 10-20 planes, instead of the planes we are used to these planes are special if the AC is given an attack order againts a BB then the player should decide how many planes to launch and are especially equip for the job.

AC planes should have a balance stat for all treats but are not specialize. Think of as navy planes, changing to torpedoes for subs, bombs for ships, and fight like but not better to interceptors, but have to return every "run".

AC's have guns for anti-ship duties, if the aircraft were all shot down, it would be defenseless. This should be reflected in game. I have a pic of the USS Lexington's eight-inch guns. AC's should be powerful enough, the are the kings of waves.

BB are the kings of naval warfare, the reason why they were phase out today is because once you have air superiority other BB are defenceless on their own plus we have Jets today.

AC are normally escorted by cruisers and destroyers, giving them a big gun hinders their true capability and role of air superiority, plus AC is not a battleship.

Also all guns on the USS Lexington was remove in 1962, Bill AC is a capital ship used to project air power on open sea, giving it a gun will make it a battle carrier and not all AC have guns attach to them, if anyone wants their AC safe just build an escort fleet, why would you give AC a gun if it's only job is to support planes? On a battle carrier it's ok, but not on all AC.

No way, Bill (if I can call you that)! Aircraft carriers were much more expensive to build than battleships. Except of course for the Americans, who built 53 ACs and only around 30 Battleships. Now I see your point. However, I still think that ACs should be more expensive than battleship. ANyhow, that is up to the mods, but seeing that the AC would be in the 'Secret' tab, I think it should be more expensive.

Not really, they did have guns, but not even to defend themselves against a destroyer. They should have some value, but not too much at all.

Some AC have guns but only sparingly, are we looking at lower than 1 value here? Or just 1?. If we give it a 2 that will give it some survivability but that will be unrealistic. Give it more armor? Yeah the deck of the ship will be blown apart by a single well place shot, more health? Sure, but I will only settle an attach value of 1 and maybe even a high value armor and health, but giving it a gun that can give this thing SOME damage is wrong, let's just settle on a 1.

I'm not familiar with the stats in this game, but something in which ANY ship would be able to sink it, and not lose too many lives (the enemy ship, I mean, not the AC).

How about we hold it here and stop basing it mostly on what sounds like our opinions. I will do a little research and find out how effect an AC is in ship v ship combat without it's planes.

I've read a lot about navies during WW2. I can assure you it was suicide sending an AC by it's own, as any ship could've destroyed it.

Well, obviously, but we also have to look at anti-aircraft capabilities and stuff like that. Also, how good it's armour plating on it's hull is.

AA should be pretty good, as it has planes. The armour-plating depends on the country.

I know, if we go for the average thickness of France's, England's, America's, Russia's and Germany's planned AC armour.

Germany never actually got to build one, just wanted to mention that.

I know, I said Germany's planned AC. They had a planned one but never got around to doing it.
