Allow for High Command/Premium Account Purchase using Gold.

Hello. I have a suggestion for the game's monetization system. I would like to suggest that High Command be purchasable using gold. I think a fair rate for gold would be around 1000 gold per day for premium, which is over double the rate when compared to USD (1.99 USD gets you 7 days, or 3300 gold, which would equal ~470g per premium account day value-wise). I do think that Bytro deserves to get a better rate for PA from players who don't pay actual money, versus ones who do to incentivize paying players to continue. Gold is a resource that, among more experienced players, is seen as a bit of a cheat. Premium, however, is simply a collection of tools to make gameplay more convenient for users, and that means that more people will be willing to watch ads on the mobile app to get those gold rewards to get it. Overall, I think that this would be a positive change.

Let's start with the possible cons, I could only think of one:

  • Can be an issue in the event of a gold generation exploit. (I don't think this is really an issue now, although that might have been the case early in the game development. Everything is probably patched by now.)
Next, what are the possible pros:

  • More fair gameplay - Non-paying and paying players will have access to the same features, and both can help the game financially.
  • Less complaints from the player base regarding "excessive gold use" as this will provide an alternate way to spend gold rewards, so in-game spending will be less as a result.
  • Increased game revenue from gold ads, as this will provide an additional incentive for players to watch them.
If someone reading this can add to anything I said, please write it down below. I decided that this is a good time to post this since the forums are finally getting more attention from Bytro staff members like @freezy and @Geden, which everyone here is very thankful for. I hope you have a good rest of your day and thank you for your time.

Yes, I would too, and I think others would say the same.

Plus if you got those ads you can actually make a 700 gold profit as well… nice.

As much as I'd love to dump some of my gold to get premium... Allowing people to convert gold to premium won't benefit bytro, it would only result in less revenue for them. Only they know how much revenue they get from ads VS gold purchases VS premium purchases but I can't imagine it'd be worth it for them to essentially eliminate one of those sources of revenue.

They wouldn't be eliminating a source of revenue though. It's very likely that the ones currently watching the ads are the ones who aren't willing to pay real money, and they are instead willing to spend some time watching those ads while paying customers are willing to bypass this by paying. Using this logic, it's easy to see that the effect this would have on bytro gold and premium sales would be negligible. Additionally, the number I gave per day (1000g) is only an example. To begin with, it's double the rate that a paying customer would have available to them, and it could be increased by bytro to maybe 1500 or even 1700 as they see fit to balance it out. I also think this would be better than giving 24h PA daily directly as a reward for completing the ads, as being able to preorder a month for 30,000 gold would be worth it for most players who can afford it to make sure they don't run out in the middle of a game, rather then risking their ranged weapons offense settings and rally points removed every 24h if they can't make it in time to watch the ads. This has the potential to be a positive change that many in the community can stand behind and support. It can show that Bytro is dedicated to their non-paying player base just as much as their paying counterparts while continuing to bring in a good profit to allow further expansion and improvements.

Supremacy does it where you can gain a bit over a day by watching all of the ads, so it’s possible you could also do that.

Yes, but as I stated in my previous post here, that risks the player not being able to watch the ad in time and losing all their PA presets. Additionally, this would mean that players can't use their winnings from in-game matches to buy it, which would be seen as unfair since desktop players don't have access to gold reward ads at all. Desktop players may have more difficulty getting larger amounts of gold to spend on premium, but having an option like that there would still go a long way.

Not sure I'd agree with this. I have bought premium several times and still watch ads most days.

To be fair that’s a very small sample size for either view point. I know I don’t and watch ads for example. We’d have to actually compile a decent amount of data to know this, and the only one to likely hold that info would be Bytro, or perhaps no one yet. Either way I guess we can’t really make a conclusion without data

Yes, but I'm trying to realistically predict people's actions based on how I'd behave and how others would likely too. To get any conclusive statements, you would need to do a smaller-scale test with several players in the actual game, and bytro is capable of this. I'm trying to prove that this is practical enough from a theoretical standpoint that it should be tested and possibly implemented in practice.

Well, most paying players would most likely prefer the convenience of paying a small cash price for premium, and then being able to save up gold from ads without worrying about most of it going away for PA, which they are getting at a much better rate using the store.

Also, a vast majority of players don't save up millions of gold as you do, they spend it almost immediately in small quantities, and this will redirect it from being used to do "game-breaking ptw things" in matches (that experienced players complain and oftentimes quit because of) and instead being allowed to do the same things that a non PA player can do just more conveniently, and I think that being able to see who has PA and who doesn't will add to the allure of getting that PA badge.

Not a bad idea at all to be honest, on paper at least. It just definitely needs to be tested to see if it would work out, and if it does, I’d love to see it implemented.

Good concept, but the availability of gold would need to be brought to desktop otherwise unfair advantage to mobile users. Either that or they'd have to limit gold earnings from ads. I also think gold might br a little oversaturated so the price may be too high for those of us who don't watch ads...

The option to renew each month would be appreciated, and I do wholeheartedly agree with the idea. Who knows, with Bytro giving out 24 h and 6 h of HC, it is not out of the range of possibility for HC to cost gold in the future.

we are nearly in 2024 and ads aren't available on desktop?

Not only in call of war but in several games I see..... -_-

You would expect it to cross over by now.
