Allowing us to destroy buildings we do not want/need

It is no secret to those that have played this game long enough that the two most important resources to produce are food and oil. Like most others, I am assuming, food management becomes most difficult with conquests of provinces when they contain one or more buildings. Fact is, the AI and some not so brilliant players seem to build in provinces where there is no need to. With every building we assume with gained territory it becomes a drain on our food resources.

I request the option to destroy buildings we do not need or want to help manage this resource. I am pretty sure this suggestion has been made before and it would allow us to truly have control over our economies deciding where and where not to have buildings placed.

I appreciate your attention. Love the game, keep up the awesome work providing us with a totally cool experience.

Cheers.

I completely agree. It would be great for 'scorched earth' tactics. Sadly, I don't think they're planning to implement them.

The past is a foreign country.

You can disable all building that consume resources over time. If you do that, they will not consume resources anymore. No need for destruction.

Well, he didn't ask for that. He only wanted to stop those buildings he didn't need from draining his resources.

ps. Scorched Earth can be done with help from an ally.

I agree. That would make it even better.

I have a thing that I do with the AI in that aspect, not sure how it would play with real players. When you go into a city and take it over is causes damage to the buildings. While they are damaged they do not consume resources. If you take the city and then abandon it sometimes the AI will comeback into it. This causes even more building damage. After a couple of these I've seen cities loose all of their buildings. Time consuming, yes but if you do it right you wont loose any attack units and the province is free of buildings.

Yup, but it should be easier.

Sorry to disagree...but I am pretty sure damaged buildings upon taking over a new territory do indeed use up resources.

The above suggestion in regard to Allies helping eliminate unwanted buildings is really the only option to do so...but, I still maintain if we are TRULY to be control of our Economies the option to get rid of buildings must be made available to us.

If building is using resources, you can turn it off. Maybe you just don't know how. To do it, open province view, find the province and then click on the builing you want to deactivate.

When the German retreated from France back into Germany, they blew up bridges and strategic buildings behind them. It only makes sense to let us do so here.

Hmm. I didn't think of that. I'm for this idea now.
