Anti-Heavy Armour Tank

So as we now have the flame tank, we have offensive tanks against every armour class except heavy armour. (TD is defensive)

So I propose adding a tank that is offensive and is geared towards heavy armoured. Ik RRG may count, but I’m talking about a melee tank against heavy armour.

Looking for improvement.

Tell that to the 50 tiger tanks that got bombed into oblivion by artillery or planes as well. Or the ocasional anecdotes of single medium tanks destroying them. Have to remember that stories and anecdotes are not the best form of evidence!
I was talking about heavy tanks not being a hopeless weapons in the war, not about the effectiveness of ground attack planes. I doubt if those Shermans or T/34's would have done any better if the sky had been full of Stuka 3.0.

They’d have more places to hide and speed to escape to them, so probably. Heavy tanks are just rolling targets..

Probably not. I doubt they had enough gas to make a real effect and they’d be gassed right back, one weapon won’t shift such a major war.
I think the Iran-Iraq war is an excellent example of how the weapons Germany had available can change the tide of a major war when employed correctly. You are right that Germany didn’t have enough, but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t have made enough if they actually intended to use the stuff.

The use of chemical weapons wouldn’t really have been nearly as effective as you may think. Gas didn’t win ww1 for the Germans, same here. The power of chemical weapons is vastly overblown, as they will always be limited in scope and easy to counter by simply using the same thing. What I mean is that while it can be strong in a surprise attack, it’s not the best for a long term war. It may have helped with the early German attacks that succeeded anyway, but by the time of Barbarossa, the allies would have used it as well, and considering the main reason German gas was more effective was that the allies didn’t put much effort in actually advancing their own, I could see allied gas being as or even more powerful anyway. Fact is, gas won’t stop American bombers from flying over you and then gassing your cities into oblivion, and I doubt the Soviets wouldn’t see the Germans stockpiling and start making their own during the combined research efforts during the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact. The best you’d get would be more dead people and Germany getting gassed like hell by the allies, especially the Soviets once they invade Germany.

What does this have to do with that

I REALLY hope this is just sarcasm lmao.

It was deliberately vague but not sarcasm lol. I swear I know what I’m talking about, but do I want to write an entire book as to why chemical weapons could have helped the Germans complete operation Barbarossa before the winter of 1941? I do not.

I'll take your word for it; chemical weapons would have lead to the Germans succeeding in Operation Barbarossa.

But all that accomplishes is delaying their inevitable defeat to the western Allies. The only reason Germany wasn't nuked first is because they had already surrendered before it was ready ;)

Thing is that if the Germans went hard into chemical weapons, the Soviets would have known. The Germans had to test all their new weapons in the USSR in order to avoid allied forces finding out that they broke the treaty of Versailles. While the Soviets mostly wasted intel they could have gained from watching the Germans, that time periods nukes would definitely not be ignored… the Soviets would develop their own, especially after they see the Germans use these weapons in Poland. So by the time Barbarossa rolls around (which was not even close to succeeding in our timeline, contrary to popular belief) they’d be ready with their own gas and masks, and retaliate. That’s all if these weapons are even as successful as you claim, which is still a little debatable. Something tells me Soviet industry would win out anyway, and the Germans at best could make themselves the first people to get nuked (as said above), and then massacred even more when the angry Commies break through. Worse situation for everyone.

That's really solid point that I never thought of before
