Appeal to add Bulgaria as a playable nation.

Dear Call of War Development Team,

I am a passionate player of Call of War, and I’ve always appreciated the strategic depth and historical accuracy the game offers, especially in its representation of the major and minor powers of World War II. As someone deeply interested in both the game and European history, I would like to propose adding Bulgaria as a playable country in the Call of War 100-player games and selected 22-player games. Bulgaria’s rich military and geopolitical history, especially prior to World War I, provides a compelling reason for its inclusion.

Historical Importance of Bulgaria: Strategic Significance Before and During WWI:

Bulgaria’s position in the Balkans made it a significant power in Southeastern Europe, and its history leading up to the world wars demonstrates why it would be a valuable addition to the game:

  • The Balkan Wars (1912–1913): Bulgaria was one of the major players in the Balkan Wars, where it sought to expand its territory and influence in the region. Though it ended in defeat in the Second Balkan War, Bulgaria emerged as a formidable military power.
  • Role in World War I: Bulgaria joined the Central Powers during WWI, largely due to its territorial ambitions and grievances from the Balkan Wars. Its military successes during the war, including its involvement in the Serbian Campaign and the control of key areas in the Balkans, positioned it as an important regional power.
  • Interwar Period: Despite the Treaty of Neuilly and the loss of territories after WWI, Bulgaria remained a nation with a strong nationalistic sentiment and a desire to regain lost territories. Its potential influence in the region remained significant, which is part of why it aligned with the Axis during WWII.
Given these historical precedents, Bulgaria’s importance as a country during the first half of the 20th century, especially within the context of European geopolitics and the Balkans, would provide a rich and strategic gameplay experience in Call of War. Bulgaria’s long-standing rivalry with neighboring countries, such as Greece and Serbia, and its fluctuating alliances during both world wars make it a fascinating addition to the game’s already deep political landscape.

Why Bulgaria Should Be Playable in Call of War:

  1. Strategic Location:Bulgaria’s location in the Balkans provides a unique strategic challenge for players. Bordering key countries such as Greece, Romania, Yugoslavia, and Turkey, it serves as a natural crossroads between Eastern, Western Europe and Asia. Players could engage in land-based warfare, maritime operations in the Black Sea, and complex diplomacy with both Axis and Allied powers.
  2. Historical Influence:While Greece is playable in certain maps, it makes sense to include Bulgaria as a playable nation across more maps, especially given its historical importance and impact on regional conflicts. Bulgaria's participation in both world wars and its role in the Balkan Wars give it a strong historical foundation for being a significant player, especially in the earlier stages of WWII.
  3. Balance and Gameplay Variety:Adding Bulgaria would not only provide variety but also balance the map in terms of potential alliances and rivalries. For example, players controlling Bulgaria could engage with Greece and Turkey over control of the Aegean, while also considering alliances with Germany or Italy. Its unique position makes it a potential game-changer depending on the strategy the player employs.
Maps and Modes Where Bulgaria Could Be Included:

  • 100-player maps: Bulgaria could replace AI-controlled nations in the Balkans or Southeast Europe. This would make the southeastern region of the map more dynamic and competitive, giving players more options for early expansion, alliances, and conflicts.
  • 22-player maps: Bulgaria could either replace Greece or be added as an additional playable country. Greece, while historically significant, did not have the same consistent influence on the regional scale as Bulgaria, especially leading up to WWII.
Final Thoughts:

Adding Bulgaria as a playable nation would enhance the historical accuracy, strategic complexity, and replayability of Call of War. Its rich military history, geographic location, and political importance make it a natural choice for inclusion in both the 100-player and 22-player maps. As the developers continue to expand the game’s content, Bulgaria would undoubtedly provide an engaging and historically grounded experience for players, while also honoring the nation's significant role in early 20th-century conflicts.

Thank you for your consideration of this proposal. I am confident that adding Bulgaria would be a popular and well-received decision among the Call of War community.

ok we can see you are bulgarian

you cant play even finland at historical map and you want to play with bulgaria

your country is too small , accept it and continue to live your life

I appreciate your reply, but I’d like to point out that bringing up Finland, when I never mentioned it in my original message, is irrelevant to the discussion. My appeal focused on the historical significance and strategic role of Bulgaria, especially in the context of both world wars and the Balkan region, not on comparing it to Finland or any other nation.

The argument here isn’t about the size of a country but rather its geopolitical and historical impact. Bulgaria, despite its smaller size, played a critical role in the Balkans and was actively involved in both WWI and WWII, making it just as deserving of consideration as other small or mid-sized nations. Simply dismissing it due to size overlooks the strategic depth and unique gameplay it could add.

Let’s focus on the merits of the proposal without diverting to unrelated comparisons. I believe the addition of Bulgaria would enrich the game for players who enjoy complex diplomatic and military dynamics.

ıf you want to especially play bulgaria I guess you can play with it at supremacy 1914 game , same company different games

You can actually play as Greater Finland in Clash of Europe

If you want to play as Bulgaria, the “All Countries: All In” scenario let’s you pick from any of the 73 countries on the Historic World War map, including Bulgaria. I’m pretty sure Bulgaria is a playable nation on the Antarctic scenarios as well.

Wait for 73p maps and they will invade you in 1 hour :)

There’s really no need for any condescending behavior. I’m simply presenting an idea because I’m passionate about the game, and I genuinely think it has the potential to bring value.

I believe that when people care deeply about something, they naturally want to contribute and make improvements. My intention is to offer a perspective that could enhance the overall experience for everyone involved, and I think it’s worth considering.

Additionally, I’ve noticed that many playable maps feature smaller countries that tend to get squeezed and invaded quickly by their larger neighbors. A good example is Iraq on the 100 map. In other maps, Iraq is often an AI-controlled country. There are also many other examples just like this one.

There is a way to make Bulgaria a playable country. I propose adjusting the borders by allocating some of Romania, Yugoslavia, and Greece’s territories to Bulgaria, reflecting its historical boundaries. This way, Bulgaria could be added without reducing the total number of provinces in those countries—they would just be slightly smaller in size.

The five cities for Bulgaria could be Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Skopje, and Kavala. This selection represents key historical and strategic locations, which would enhance the gameplay by reflecting a more accurate and immersive representation of Bulgaria’s influence in the region in the beginning of 20th century.

LoL it is not condescending it is reality

you sent a picture here about your greater Bulgaria dream , why Skopje , Constanta or Kavala belong to Bulgaria at 1939 map ? this is a ww2 game no one care what Bulgaria had 50 years ago

I’m saying again if you want to play with greater Bulgaria go to supremacy 1914 game

In general, Bulgaria was an active participant in World War II, playing a significant role compared to countries like Finland. In fact, Bulgaria was more important in the war than Romania and Yugoslavia, which further supports its inclusion as a playable character in this game. While I understand the concern about the relevance of historical claims, the historical context and Bulgaria's actions during the war make it a compelling choice for players interested in exploring that period.

Regarding the 'Greater Bulgaria' dream, while it may not be the main focus of the game, it's essential to acknowledge that Bulgaria had historical claims and territories that contribute to its unique position in this context.

My previous statement referred to more than 100 years ago, after World War I, but during World War II, Bulgaria also had territories from Greece and Yugoslavia. As for the borders, I would suggest familiarizing yourself with the borders during World War II before writing your comments.

Additionally, the reason you may not think Bulgaria was a major actor in the 20th century is due to the Soviet occupation and the communist regime until 1989. If you were a bit more familiar with Balkan history, you would know that Bulgaria's aggressive behavior during the Balkan Wars and World War I significantly shaped the borders of the Balkans as we know them today. As for the borders, I would suggest familiarizing yourself with the borders during World War II before writing your comments.

Finally, if you’re suggesting that being surrounded by other countries makes Bulgaria an easy target, while this may be true, more experienced players might prefer a bit of a challenge. As we all know, this game is unpredictable, and that unpredictability is what makes it unique. As for the borders, I would suggest familiarizing yourself with the borders during World War II before writing your comments.

While I understand your point, let’s consider some examples from the game Call of War. There are several small countries that players can choose. Incorporating Bulgaria would not only align with the inclusion of other smaller nations like Greece and Finland but also provide players with a richer and more competitive experience.

And no, Germany shouldn't start with it's borders during the war.

And while Bulgaria increased it's borders during WW2, it's border were still bigger before the war compared to today.

I am not talking about a "Greater Dream". Not only Balkan countries have this, but every nation in the world. This is why I prefer to not talk about imaginable scenarios.

I'm not exactly sure why you've chosen to highlight those specific countries as examples. From what I understand, each of them is already available on different maps, with the exception of Bulgaria. Given this, I believe it would only be fair and reasonable to include Bulgaria as a playable country on at least one permanent map. Adding Bulgaria would not only balance the regional representation but also provide players with more diverse gameplay options. It seems inconsistent that all of these other countries are featured while Bulgaria, a country with a rich history and strategic importance, is left out. Including it would enhance the overall experience for players who enjoy exploring different regions and strategies.
