Army Group Centre in Endgame 1944

Is it just me or does army group centre seem to be extremely OP compared to the soviets? Currently playing and it seems as if this one nation could easily beat all 3 soviet starting armies by itself

I get that the german armies will probably have more units as they are in between 2 alliances but it just seems a bit ridiculous running into multiple heavy tanks etc. when you don't have any of your own to start

apologies if this is any kind of spoiler

UK is pretty strong too. It starts with 20+ ships and 15+ aircraft and can easily defeat west Germany. East Germany is pretty strong...but if it is weak then soviets will crush him. South Germany already sucks as it is attacked by America and U.K., which are both really strong, and also may get attacked by south soviet. If you pick Germany, you do get more troops and units, but you are squeezed between Soviet and allies. If every player is active, then what will most likely happen is south Germany gets crushed by U.K., America, and south Soviet. Then West Germany will also be attacked by U.K., France, and America and with the massive Air Force of the U.K., it will destory his mainland troops. UK’s navy can make sure Norway and mainland Germany get separated, then Norway can get bombarded by a few naval ships and a few UK troops would be able to take it with help from Balkan front. East Germany may be able to defeat the central Russian front and attack Balkan front, but with west and south Germany down, he will also be crushed.

I had Army Group Centre in my only 1944 Endgame ... The best Soviet player had Belorussian Front and started game by flying recon over my border provinces, thus I went after him and crushed the bulk of his armies at the border in 4-5 days ... By then his 2 Soviet allies had bailed out and had a relatively easy time taking over most of the Russian provinces by the end of 2 weeks- eliminating a threat to the axis coalition from the East ...Meanwhile on the western front, the UK kept my two allies at bay- despite his allies bailing out by day 3 or 4 ... Once my troops started arriving to help in the western front, it was too much for the Uk to handle us three.

On my current game all 3 soviets are still active but only ag west and uk on other teams everyone else has dropped out, just grinding down centre with artillery

from what I've read it just confirms my suspicions that a good player can beat the whole enemy coalition easily, I think if they redesigned the map they could at least give some heavy units to the soviets who would have deffo had it by that point in the war

I know if I had the units centre gets it'd be a very different game

It really just depends on which team is more active and has better players...except Soviet almost never wins.

WRONG! If you want to know why, check my previous posts on another thread about my victory as Belorussian front with almost no help from allies.

It also depends on the skill of the player... :D
