Artillery Deploy Time and Packing up time
Im tired of people spamming artillery and being able to shoot and scoot all the time cause they have nothing better to do than sit there and micro-manage artillery, making them invincible. IMO, artillery should have a deploy time of around maybe 15-30 minutes before they can start firing, and when you try to move them when deployed, they will have to "pack up" for another 15-30 minutes before they can start moving again. This will solve the annoying shoot and scoot mechanic that makes active players nearly unstoppable as they can pair AA up with them so you cant even use bombers.

Guys just attack it from the air... A stack of Tactical Bombers will do the job so well you could swap 1 or 2 of them for escort fighters. And if the enemy has air cover then just stop complaining, they're just the better player.
Edit: For realisms sake I would like to see artillery either not be able to move once an attack is made or not be able to attack when moving. A pack up time is largely unrealistic considering the time scale of this game.
SP arties shouldn't have a pack up time as they are literally just tanks with lighter armor but a heavier, long ranged, gun.
Most the time they will have other units grouped with the arty, so your fast units you send to attack will be whittled down by the time they arrive and they will split their other units to deal with your units you sent to attack, while the artillery stays behind, destroys your army, then they group them up again and rinse and repeat. This isn't strategy this is just exploiting bad game mechanics. Pair that with AA and your bombers wont do anything.
Why are we discussing the same thing in two different threads anyways?
Remember that most players in COW aren't super active. They chose Axis as a doctrine, stack infantry with tanks, send them on a long march and try to overrun their enemy by login in only twice a day. If an artillery buff would be introduced they would actually have a chance to win with their offline tactic. The point of using artillery is having to be proactive and micro manage.
Everyone in this game has the same toolbox. Tank lovers only use one tool with one function that fits all while other players chose to use a multifunktional tool with which they can do a better job. Now you are shouting "oh they use a better tool then me, please make their tool worse. You could simply also grab the multifunktional tool in your toolbox you know.

we are trying to make the game balanced. If everyone is using the same "strategy" of shoot n scooting that doesn't make the gameplay fun or diverse, just who exploits this the most wins. If you have one play style like this then everyone will forget about using any other unit because why use them when you can spam arty and shoot n scoot while taking no damage.BMfox wrote:

Thing is if you nerf artillery like this nobody is going to use it, everyone would just use tanks.scuffed wrote:

Well I think part of making your strategy for the game is formulating one according to how much activity you're willing to put in. Some use their artillery stay really active since they can afford too, others like someone else said above, pair infantry with tanks as axis and just march as far as they can.scuffed wrote:

And even if they have other units paired up with the artillery like AA and AT, its really just part of the game and you just have to think of a way to counter it. you can lure them into different terrain which might give you an advantage like plains maybe? Where your tanks will be stronger and all ordnance have no bonuses. Maybe you can stack strategic bombers on top of your 10 tactical bombers to soak up the damage from the AA? Maybe you can go around the sidelines and reclaim the territory so you halve their speed and trap them while attacking from multiple directions so they have to choose which army to take care of first? Maybe you can retreat to the shore so that you can bombard them with battleships which out range artillery?
My point here is that no matter how overpowered you think any strategy is, there will always be a counter to it and its up to you to think up a solution to beat artillery. As someone who actively does the shoot and scoot tactics. I know very well the weaknesses of it and its really expensive and time consuming to accommodate for these weaknesses no matter how active I am.
And I'm not sure how often you do this but check your opponents' economic stats and KD especially your neighbors. It'll give you some insight to how active they are and what strategies they might use and then you can build up to counter it.
If they use gold then just leave the match

This shoot and scoot strat is very expensive, one mistake and it’s very costly for them.
