Atomic bomb

If a province is attacked by an atomic bomb should we not drastically reduce the population size and have it grow slowly?

This then influences production, construction. There must also be a province cost penalty.

I believe it considerably lowers the morale of the province that got hit and it does take a while to build back up.

Each nuclear attack results in an instant negative 30-point hit on the province's morale that lasts for 3 to 4 days (depending on when the daily update falls relative to the time of the attack). If you click on the "i" information button next to the province's morale, it will list the factors affecting morale; if memory serves, I believe the lingering nuke effect is listed as "Radiation -30", or words to that effect.

if a province is hit by a level 3 nuclear bomber/rocket, the province will pretty much rebel away, capital included

Not necessarily, Draza. If your capital gets hit by a nuke, and it drops from 100% to 70% provincial morale, it's not going to rebel. If the province is at or below 55% and gets hit with a nuke, yeah, it's probably going to rebel -- but remember: garrison units with combined strength points greater than 7 will almost always prevent a rebellion.

One other thing to consider about nukes and provincial morale: if you nuke an enemy province, and then capture it shortly thereafter, you will have to live with that -30% ongoing hit on the province's morale for 3 to 4 days. Given that all provinces' morale starts at 25% immediately after capture, you can have a real challenge stabilizing that newly captured province. Bring your radiation suits -- you're going to need significant garrison units for at least several days.

i am playing a 22 player game against a giant finland, and i have nuked his capital(s) 5 times, 5 of his capitals rebelled away.

if you hit an capital with an nuke, you will drop its morale on <25% most of the time it drops down to 22%, most of the buildings will be destroyed and the garrison will be dead, you can just capture the capital for sweet morale boost, or just watch how his morale falls down faster than a shot down bomber

in other words, Nukes are capital busters, and if your capital gets hit by a level 3 nuclear bomber/rocket, move your capital, its not worth to try and rebuild the ruined one.

Thanks for the info King Draza I shall remember it and use it when the opportunity present itself.

I didn't use it on a capital but but I saw the morals but on productivity per day it still shows 1.x mil population and I thought they use it in some sort of calculation?

I'm also not sure if that population figure changes over time.?. I'll monitor it from now.

Population and consumption of a province are always the same, irrespective of the moral.

While at COW the population lives on as radioactive mutants. This creates an opportunity for a new unit - Radioactive Mutant Soldiers.

Requisites: Level 1 barracks, Level 1 industry, Province must have been nuked within the last 60 days

Strength: same as Infantry

Speed: same as AC

Skin: The modified cars and guys from Mad Max
