So i've read about a few things that countries used and I came across a unit that used bikes. I know for a fact that Denmark and other countries in Asia used this during WW2 and I was thinking that maybe it would be a cool unit. Me and my friends have been speculating about it's abilities and they could be fast on retreat and be faster in open territories, and maybe have a damage boost in forests? It could be faster then regular Infantry and slower then mechanized infantry, so kind of a middle unit between them. I think that more units should be added and I know that it might be complicated to create a whole new unit . But I would really appriciate it!

It's a cool idea but please note that regular infantry of allies doctrine, which is the slowest already moves at 32km/h. It's not that they can march that faster, it's because infantry brigades are being transported by trucks. So you bicycle infantry should be slower than regular infantry. As one infantry represents a brigade, I'm not sure there were bicycle infantry on a brigade level?
Isn't mot. Inf the middle unit between regular inf and mech. Inf?

This mainly falls into the "overcomplicates the game" category. A unit like this, while pretty cool, is rather unnecessary and wouldn't contribute to the game experience much. Good idea though. Definitely more original than most others.

So guys, no one has ever had this idea before. Field hospitals, coastal troops, encirclements.

It could be a cosmetic upgrade to the already existing infantry, for example lvl 6 infantry could get the cosmetic upgrade?

Should we add cavalry as well? Cavalry was still in use in WW2 by any nation.
Seriously I don't think this is a good idea mostly because how the meta-game works, it's not like hoi4 when research new weapons affects all types of infantry, even in hoi4 bicycle it's a cuestionable choise with this fact in mind.resesrch in cow only affect one type of unit, a great effort of time choosing and Infsntry who as the same role of motorized but slower, it's not a good idea. How resource's work in cow it's also different and affects how the army composition should be.

...says that in may 1940, the Dutch army had an entire DIVISION of wielrijders (=bicyclists)... so OF COURSE they should be implemented in the game!!

Yeah, that's always my second criterium in selecting which units to build... the first is of course even more important: how fast can they surrender?
The Dutch were very good at that as well, they fought for a whole FIVE days when the Germans came!
So hosannah hey, lets have bicycle infantry!
One of the decisive units that allowed the Finns to win the battle of Tolvajärvi during the Winter War was the Bicycle Battalion 7, which held the line totally outnumbered until the rest of the Finns task force could arrive to bolster the defense and counter-attack.
The Japanese also did decisive usage of bicycle infantry during their initial conquest of S-E Asia.
Nonetheless, Cavalry is much more lacking than Bicycle infantry. If I was a dev with time to spare, I would create "legacy units" of cavalry (and, with an asset swap, bicycle if needed) that would only be used at the beginning of historical scenarios, and cannot be upgraded. Same with tankettes, armored trains and even battlecruisers, actually.

Brilliant idea I think they should have a special attack option called 'ring the bell' whereby they can bypass enemy infantry

Bicycle infantry would basically be motorized infantry but on bicycles, in the end this feature feels like a good and original one just that it would be hard to implement. If it were added to the game it would be as I said similar to motorized infantry. While being used a lot historically it wouldn’t fit very well into call of war, like donk said it would just overcomplicate a simple ww2 rts game.

Bicycle infantry might demand petroleum to be produced but perhaps they might not demand petroleum in order to be maintained.
Ofcourse it's just a case of not considering bletch though...
