Bridges between provinces

Some provinces separated by a small sea should have a bridge building. This bridge would allow for units to go to these provinces like there isn't sea between these provinces and without needing to embark and disembark (which takes like 6+ in-game hours),

For example: If you build a bridge province in the provinces of Port Said and Suez (Egypt), you donΒ΄t need to embark and desimbark to transfer units between these provinces, they can just "walk" in there.

Another places this could be implemented in: The danish islands (Copenhagen and Odessa), Copenhagen and Malmo, Instambul and Izmit (Turkey), Corsica to Sardinia, etc.

This would help transfering units between places a LOT.

PS: Navies would behave normal even if there's a bridge.

This is an interesting idea, but there are not many ways in which this could be utilitzed, and a lot of things would have to be made for it, and to units, such as speed, the health of the bridge, what its properties should be, and if there IS a bridge how would you build it?

EXactly. Good and interesting idea though. Technically its not very hard, just put in an option as for harbour on both sides where the option bridge is possible. It could costa about the same as harbour and units just ignore sea at that point and a line is formed for ability passing. Maybe set speed as mountain as its narrow if not disturbing some units as milisia or AA that have better numbers in mountain etc.

Problem is that maybe you still should have both sides to be able build a bridge and with that in mind you allready on both sides. Can imagine the thrill sneak a unit over build bridge and then send the tanks over. Would be a fun ad to strategy

In most of your examples, engineering level for that kind of bridges only became available after the war. The only exceptions (I think) would be Suez, Panama and Bosporus, but I don't think we should implement a pretty complex mechanism for only a few places on the map.

My point exactly.

It could be very easy. Use a Symbol in those regions.

If you want to go from one region to another with these symbols you have to build infrastructe level 1 in each region ... and done.

But what if you don't want a bridge? this will never be put into the game, i can speak for Bytro when i say that, because it is true, for it to serve any purpose Bytro would have to add rivers and streams and such into the game, then it would be too complicated.

I think this idea is a good one. Just need to find the proper procedure. You could just double the speed of embarking/disembarking when one player owns both sides of a "Straight" like in Egypt, Turkey, Denmark, because of using Ferries or other Civilian crafts that would always be available for the taking in these warterways

Bridges are really not that good of an idea, they could only be used in like 13 places in a WaW, therefore making them essentially useless.

Do you think that the player playing Egypt would think this useless? Or Sweden? Or Turkey? Or any player that conquers those Countries. I do not know what your defenition of useless is, but it is obviously different than mine.

Okay, explain to me how this idea is different than just Upgrading ports? Cause it isn't.

Simple. Upgrading ports takes a tremendous amount of time and resources. Getting a movement advantage from owning both sides of a straight should be automatic and free.

Nothing is free. And you are arguing for something that Bytro will never add, not tryna be rude, just telling you the truth, i've been here for years.

Just because they will not add it, does not make it useless or a bad idea. Be nice.
