Maybe they can be weakened in an other sense, for example, a province guarded by militia will detect commando movements faster without changing anything to the power balance of the units, only the visibility.

Concrete I think it would play out like this:

Airborne Commando's are (almost) invisible, but they can't be dropped on the target.

Instead they will always land a certain distance from the target and continue on foot.

When militia are given a larger visibility range, they would be able to detect the commands sooner.

Just like the sea bombers and the submarines.

I must admit... I fear all these ideas are a bit far fetched for a simple online game..

simpler might just be better

So, uh, I don't really think commandos need a buff unless we get floodlights. Either that or AC become even better at recon.

Maybe a better counter would be they are only invisible up to a certain amount? Having a sudden +5000 men to the population of one province would be kind of conspicuous

Why would they take part in a census or mingle with the population...?

I meant marching as they already do, 25 km/h requires some really efficient marching, 5,000 guys doing that down a road will be pretty noticeable, so an on/off switch on this invisibility will also sacrifice some speed, as having to avoid detection means circumventing some main areas and blending

There are a lot of interesting ideas here,

Some more achievable then others.

Yet in statistics there is a principle that guarantees success...

It is called the KISS or " Keep it simple stupid ".

All the above is getting far to complex for my poor brain,

to think that I play games to relax...

Maybe it is better to create ten units that do al the above in one mouse click,

rather then to make one unit that needs ten submenus.

That is just my humble opinion.

I will be looking forward to what ever comes out of this.

Nah, I like the idea of a little option to make commandos invisible. Like the march and attack orders. Except you need HC to use it, kind of like fire control.

High Command has little to no feature as is. I think it needs more.
