Build in some pauses to the games

It is a problem at times to be able to commit 24 hours for a number of days to play call of war. Could the games be set up with pre-determined pauses, potentially linked to a variety of time zones to enable players to focus on the game as well as having some time to sleep and do other real life things?

Just don’t sleep. Simple solution.

A very good idea with several implementation problems... most importantly, these pauses would have to be way too diverse to be practical. Players are from all kinds of time zones. School kids would want a daytime pause as well. Some people go to bed at 10pm and others at 1am. The diversity is way too big, and fracturing down maps into a thousand different "pause windows" to everyone's liking is just not doable.

I would see these pauses as geared towards various time zones. You would choose which games to join taking into account which pauses may suit your personal circumstances.

Having to set alarms to wake up and check an online game isn't really a sustainable way to play games.

You could go further and just have a playing window of for example 6 hours per day. One may find that a wider range of people could start playing these games and importantly the game speed could be varied. Imagine playing for just 6 hours and completing a full day (4X speed).

Sounds great to me! But again... these six hours would be MY hours, right?

Of course not. They’d be mine.

Here's an idea, slowed maps. Maybe have maps be 0.5x normal speed, so that way almost everyone has time to react to situations.

That be a cool thing to try, though I’m afraid that most would find it excruciatingly slow and it wouldn’t get many players…

I'd see the game time being showed at the game set up stage. For example, game play between 17:00 to 23:00 GMT.

For me winning the game by having more time available than the opponents does not necessarily reflect a better player; just more time available to play.

I wonder if Bytro would be interested?

This suggestion has been around for years, so since it isn't implemented yet, it is unlikely that they are interested.

Good idea, but I’m a little biased…

Automatic Pause

bad idea then in the you have its slow the all meaning of this therd is a way to play speed game with sleep that why its the oppiste from the solve. i think there should be maps that you can choose your time zone like east europe time zone and then you have 6 hours to play every 24 hours.

I suggested it because fast maps already exist, but then again they also have the issues of sleep because when people sleep 8 hours a 4x map player will have the opportunity to have 24 hours of movement. In a slowed map people would only have 4 hours of opportunity when people sleep 8 hours.
