Maybe Canada can be replaced with Turkey, Sweden or Spain or even noone in the WW2 map

I think so. This is Hetalia all over again. Canada was massively important in WWII but sadly is shoved in a corner and forgotten.

And if you (for some reason) wanted to get rid of Canada, you'd make it British, not Spanish or Swedish.

I think he wants a scenario in which Canada is ruled by either Turkey/Sweden/Spain. How this would have happened... I have no idea...

Simple.
Sweden: The Norse successfully colonize Canada.
Turkey: The Canadians start to celebrate thanksgiving.
Spain: The Spanish send an army to invade Britain, but get lost and go to Canada, where they establish their own government. The Spanish are mad that their army deserted, so they send another army to Canada to punish the deserters. Several genocides later, Canada is a Spanish colony.
