In an other company Imperia (*?) they had an interesting feature for Christmas in which you could buy a small package of Gold for another player and you would get a bonus. so for example you buy 30,000 gold for someone and you would get 6,000 for yourself.

This was a good money maker and also helped build up interactions between players.
