I disagree, the boosts would make commandos super OP.
Mess with the Bill, you get the scorn!
Allow Commandos to use routes that no one else can see. They can only be used by Commandos basically they can be used for infiltration missions yet you don't want to start a war or use spies. What this does is allows for ambushes where the Commandos hold all the cards. Ambushes of this type for the first hour of combat gives Commandos a 50 percent bonus to their attack power against all units save for air which remains the same. It also negates damage to the Commando unit by 50 percent as well. Thus making it easy to do quick strikes against the enemy. After the first hour however it all goes down to normal levels. This represents the surprise part of the ambush and the enemy force panicking. Afterward the enemy recovers from its shock and figures out where the attack is coming from. A thing that could be added for members of HC is they could order quick strikes.

Well its how Commandos work. They sneak in behind enemy lines, and then hits them right were it hurts the most.
Agree fully. Commandos were not used in normal assaults, like many people use them in this game. I love this idea.
I do want them to have more use, My only purpose for them atm is to act as a defense force in mountains.
I just use a large stack of tanks and inf.
I use a mix units in my defense and offense armies, My commandos are *In a mountain defense or reserve role normally* are generally supported by some AT and AA to cover their weaknesses and some infantry to add a bit of mass to the force. When properly supported a Commando central force can hold off a significant attack *in my theory* but with only 1 game finished to date many of my tactical theories are untested. Of course Commandos are meant to be offensive in nature so I am misusing them either way.
I find them an incredible waste. I prefer MT and LT supported by all types of inf.
They are expensive at first but have low upkeep vs infantry. For countries with a lot of mountains they are useful *defense wise*.
I have only had to defend once. The only other 'defending' I did was letting two countries throw their inf and AC against my inf and MT.
Im quite paranoid so I keep units ready for an emergency defense, commandos are part of that plan.

Larger maps = More mountain and Urban = Important Commando
Commandos in this game are definitely unrealistic. In a game, I wanted to test their ability to take a city single-handed and hold it. I launched 1 regiment of Commanods against Copenhagen, which was undefended. I take it. Next day, Copenhagen and the Commanods have rebelled and joined Sweden. What on Earth? Commandos were not 'Elite Infantry' only. They were elite infantry that did special missions normal infantry couldn't do.
The Dieppe raid was an awful example, they failed horribly.

Couldn't agree more Czar.
Commandos are base line infantry on steroids, you want a realistic use of commandos? Go someplace else, no matter how good of an explanation any of you guys give, we will say it and we will say it again, this is a game, and current game mechanics stated we use EVERY unit the same way we use them in S1914.
Say whatever you wish, your arguments will fall to no ears at all, the commandos will stay to what they are currently and that's that.
No counter argument and never mention another game because that's what you all doing, commandos using a different route? Are you that crazy to suggest something outside game-mechanic? Go play something else.
Compare this suggestion to paras, paras are. paras are more appealing.
Commandos using a special route give me a break, good luck fighting a stack of 100 tanks. This thread is dead and buried in the ground, end of discussion.
Don't you dare put thoughts in their heads of paras.
Whatever. Seems we lost the argument. But something has to be done about Commandos to make people use them more, an incentive for people. Otherwise they just build normal infantry.
There really is no point to them. Are they any faster?
