Comprehensive Suggestion List

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Call of War unofficial Comprehensive Suggestion List.

The goal of this thread is to list everything that has been suggested on the forums, and categorize them based on what players want. For now, there will be a simple 3 category system, but in the future I may rank some items depending on how important they are, or the frequency of discussion.

Items in the "Positives" section have a general support from most players, and some are very likely to be added in the future. Items in the "Negatives" section have been discussed and have been found to be a feature that should not be added to Call of War. Items in the "Undecided" category have mixed reviews and probably need more discussion to determine whether the majority of players want them or not. So, without further ado...

I believed it to be "in my honest opinion". Guess connotation isn't always set even in text slang

As far as kicking active Players or kicking players in general. There are a couple games out there where it is too easy to kick players and they get kicked for being too new at the game. It makes a "mafia" kinda feeling to some games where they kick players for not being veteran or not being in a group. So keep kicking hard to do. Please

This is where I write something cool.

Technically a player can only be kicked from a game by the maps game-admin, when he goes inactive during a specified number of days (= player did not log into the map between X daily server resets at 2300hrs), which is specified at game start and can be re-read in the 2nd tab of the newspaper (right top).

Further removal from map can only happen by a Game Operator, based on well founded complaints (i.e. very bad language, racism etc.), foul play (i.e. multi-accounting) and so forth.

In a rare case in Supremacy1914 also for not being French and winning on a French map after a French player complains to his French MA about wolf-packing by 2 (TWO?!) players.

I Do not beleive we should name the provinces. But, I do think we should have the opportunity to rename a group of Armor, infantry, air, or sea For example have a group of 10 Infantry units and name it 1st infantry division and be able to move them together at the same time. Or 1st Armor for a group of amor. etc... or just mix it up and put together tanks and infantry and name them Alpha Brigade limit them to about 10 unit per group. What does everyone think?

Well, you can kind of do this already with both the Split function and the holding-down-left-click-and-dragging-across-the-screen-to-select-your-units function.

The naming thing, I don't like, here's why.

  • Too many names (too complex to code)
  • Confusion (can confuse a player or even yourself)
  • This could mean you can have two division of the same name, because there is practically no way to regulate different names (there are ways, but I don't think it would be priority).

Good suggestion though! Names of units have been discussed endlessly, too. Check out some other threads for some more ideas! :D

The names wouldn't be difficult to code at all. Pretty easy, actually. The purpose of naming divisions is actually helping the player identify his troops. And it's cool too :) And if it confuses the enemy, even better! And since it's purpose is helping the player identify his own troops, I doubt players would name them the same. And if they do, what?

I also suggest that troops are only namable if they are in groups of 10k or more.

The past is a foreign country.

also cant name 2 groups same name

Havent read the whole thread, just the main post.

Might I suggest that rather than all these little off-shoot idea's of different types of units like Marines, and Corvettes, and all this type of thing, we simply look at it as a more general thing, and simply request unit specialization? Perhaps in a unit upgrade/experience type capacity? Or just a more traditional to CoW method of addition research. Light and Heavy infantry. Anti-Tank infantry. Have Commando's and Marines fit within the same area naturally.

Diversify in as many ways as possible.

Fight example, aircraft. We have fighters and bombers. What about Fighter Bombers? Assault Fighters? Light Fighters? Heavy Bombers? Numerous variations on these apply in reality, and as a result expand strategy. There's an element of realism to this game, or at least strived for realism, so this could extend most every unit we currently have in the game because there simply are so many variations outside of the game.

Also have not read the full thread, but did not see this on the initial post.

Could we please get the province list to display as a generic alphabetical sort when you go to trade a province? As it stands right now, it appears to be grouped alphabetically by original country (though there is no indication of which country any given province had belonged to in the list). In the 100 player map especially, finding a specific province in the list is a freaking nightmare if you hold a fair amount of the map.

This I completely agree with. Something similar to the province-finders in EU4 or HOI3.

although lets say for example you are searching for a provence,

eg malaga,

just click "M" until you find it

but yea alpha sorted would be easier

OK, is it possible for us to have a list of the units in different branches. E.g. A list of all units in one's airforce (Maybe even to rename your air force name), or all naval units, etc.

Thank you. This is what I have been hoping for too!
