Hello everyone, and welcome to the Call of War unofficial Comprehensive Suggestion List.
The goal of this thread is to list everything that has been suggested on the forums, and categorize them based on what players want. For now, there will be a simple 3 category system, but in the future I may rank some items depending on how important they are, or the frequency of discussion.
Items in the "Positives" section have a general support from most players, and some are very likely to be added in the future. Items in the "Negatives" section have been discussed and have been found to be a feature that should not be added to Call of War. Items in the "Undecided" category have mixed reviews and probably need more discussion to determine whether the majority of players want them or not. So, without further ado...

Look, if this feature gives you problems you must really suck at the game. This is the first time that I can remember of people complaining about the distance to the capital. So obviously it is only a problem to you.
Its only a problem to anyone playing the long game with huge empires stretched across the map. Maybe you haven't been paying attention lately and maybe I am only the first to call Bytro to the mat about it since it's a recent change. But it is a problem for resource production and it is only a recent problem.
It is similar to the problem encountered by Civilization players who had wide-spread empires -- trying to mitigate the distance-to-capital penalties has always been a bitch in that series, but at least the developers offered ways around the problem (though at the cost of creating other problems). In this game, Bytro has just created the problem without offering a reasonable solution. As an example, just check out one of your older in-progress games with a far-flung empire (if you actually have any) that you haven't finished and see what the morale map looks like. It should be a lot-less green than when you last checked it before the change.
For example, UK -- left alone with only an AI player -- in the Blitz map is at risk of losing parts of Egypt to low morale now. This is not an acceptable change.

You must absolutely suck at this game if this feature gives you problems. I can manage a country that is made entirely of non-core provinces. Trust me, this feature does not cause problems.

Well good for you for not sucking (so you say....)

It doesn't appear that you are getting much support.

It's 7:00 am PST. I doubt there are more than a few people even playing now, let alone reading the forums.

I've been flipping between this and another thread, and I thought you were referring to the other one. As for how much traction one gets, I would say I'm getting fair traction considering so few players actually read the forums. And there is support for my position.

Can you quote? By the way, Pablo22510 has said my points are better more recently than yours so he is out.

Well, @Diabolical, Bill has a point. If it wasn't for you I'd have never known, because it didn't affect me in any way.

Honestly, I see no problem with this change. Just another problem to solve through clever play, and something to take advantage of when you are facing an opponent with a much larger empire than your own.
Actually, I prefer this change because it's just another tiny way the game prevents snowballing.

Different maps would be of interest.
South East Asia
The Americas-especially seeing how there is a South American Map in your 1914 game.
South America
Central America
North and Central America
North America
And you could always play around with interesting map divisions of the Americas:
Those maps suck. I don't want to have the US fighting amongst itself more than it already is.

Think of the maps as idea generators, especially since they were created by others.

You mean this would go with other countries like the USSR in the 22 map?

Actually, you've reminded me of an awesome board game from Milton Bradly's GAMEMASTER SERIES (i.e., Axis & Allies) called "Fortress America" which had the USA on the defensive against invading forces from three sides. It was created with an America-is-losing-at-first mindset where the invaders had to win a victory in a timely manner or else the USA would restructure enough defenses to overcome them.
Fortress America had similar play style to Axis & Allies and special rules that really helped with game balance. Invaders had invasion zones that their forces would be selectively added by a certain amount per turn for 6 turns then that was it, no more forces for them. The USA would start with exactly the same amount as the combined first turn of the three invaders but would get partisan-based resupplies and a slowly-reorienting space program to help by taking a few potshots at high value targets.
Call of War has always reminded me of Axis & Allies and I think it could easily adapt a map for a Fortress America style game. This same game map principle could be applied to other nations too. Also, there was another game where a divided USA looked a little more like what you are talking about, called "Shattered Union". But that played more like Warcraft and would not have much of an existing model to go by other than the battle lines.

These particular maps might be, and in some cases are, the property of others so no.

I would like to see new maps.

Fortress America looks familiar (sounds like an interesting game, thanks for posting), and you might be interested to scroll through that Alternative History forum as there are interesting maps there. There are a lot of options and possibilities, and the inclusion of a South American map in the 1914 game piqued my interest. In this game, the split North/South US was an interesting way to balance the map and, for me, opened a few possibilities for new maps.
I'd like to see more maps in the game, WW2 took place in many areas. And history, or alternative histories, could provide an opportunity to theory-craft new maps considering or ignoring colonies (Continental Africa, North Eastern Asia, and South East Asia) or creating new dynamics with maps of Central, South or North America, all in a WW2 setting of course.

I really think that it should be possible to do group conversations with other nations, this could proved extremely useful for peace negotiations, and for group alliance situations. As well as this, I think there should be like a resource-pool function, where a couple of nations get together in a coalition or something, and the have like a fund of resources, that they can withdraw from with like votes or something.

Now that the new World map has come out, I think they should create other smaller maps (pacific theater, US divided, Eurasian theater.
If they create some new historical units, they could easily create many new maps like: US civil war map, Fortress America (fantasy) map, Napoleanic Wars map, USSR civil war (fantasy) map, China civil war (fantasy) map, Aztec conquests map, Japan Shogun map, Medieval Europe map, Vikings expansion map, etc.
Heck, if they'd get a little more creative, we could even have an Alpha Centauri/Alien Crossfire style map with futuristic units.
The basic concept for the maps and units are already done for the most part. They just need to mod it or open the code to modding by the community.

This is a ww2 + game not a short history of the Human race, adding those maps would be rubbish.
British=best. Duh!
