Conscription, Trade Manpower?

Trade manpower? Maybe a conscription feature that would increase manpower production by 33% but it would limit or decrease morale levels.

Hell no!

I realized the power I held, Power! The power to rule! To make the world grovel at my feet!
We will begin with a reign of terror. A few murders here and there, murders of great men, murders of little men, just to show we make no distinction.

It was just an inside joke...

I was trying to find a way to trade manpower without being called slavery...

I haven't found any solution yet...

It's the only resource that you can't sell/buy/trade....

KADEKO I KNOW WHAT YOU DID TO THOSE SOUTH EAST ASIANS

Bro it was a prank, although I think I should be able to trade manpower.

You might know this but we used to be able to trade units. There were of course limits, 5% of an army per day I think?

It's realistic. This did happen during the war.

I also think the whole relation between manpower, manpower limits, recruitment size, and population size (which is itself cursed) needs a major rework. 10% at least should be the max recruitment, and population sizes in this game are usually far too large. They could benefit from reading this.

I agree, the population never makes sense. Iceland out here with a 5 million population while Germany only has 50. I do love the idea of a lend lease you're talking about which used to be in the game. But unfortunately the way the game works doesn't support the concept. Tanks or vehicles aren't declared as separate equipment in game, but they contain the whole crew, bombs, and operating costs when overall costs are put into effect.

Now I learned that in order to get responses on your suggestions, make the title as controversial as possible. My last suggestion from a few minutes before this one still has 0 responses.

I mean sure but you’ll also get deleted and banned soooo….

I agree, I'm not really talking about lend-lease though. One can already do that anyway by trading away goods or other resources basically for free.

You are quite right, a unit = a whole regiment (or often more) as I am at pains to point out to some new players who wonder "why does a light tank cost more than a submarine?"

However, I am talking about literally trading units. This did happen sometimes, for example:

  • The Condor Legion in Spain was under the command of Nationalist Spain.
  • The Soviet Union essentially lent China a Red Army fighter wing so protect its interests in 1939.
  • Nationalist China itself had two route armies, X and Y force, placed under (Anglo-American) CBI command for the defence of India. They were trained and equipped by the US Army and returned to NRA service after the war.
  • In Europe, both the Axis and Allies had some divisions placed under the command of an ally's army -- essentially giving or lending a unit to them.
So yes, I think that there is historical precedent for it, and that the feature ought to be resurrected.
