Could a 'war mode' be added for planning a war movements

Plotting moves across a country that has no war declaration just to see timing, and the thing just wants to take the shortest path which is out to sea through freindly territory. So I have to go province by province and keep adding targets.

Couln't there be just a toggle in option to go to war mode so that it assumes you are at war?

Players that monitor their diplomacy status often trade embargo before declaring war. What if trade embargo status permitted the mechanism you're talking about? I also get annoyed when I have to use Add Target province-by-province to chart out paths through another country. Tying the straight-line charting to trade embargo status might encourage more players to consider diplomacy status too.

I agree with you. But isn't it better to toggle between for example fastest, shortest, no water, only peaceful territory, only own territory and only territory with war? Add target are also added for a reason.

Yea, more options are good. I see under 'map controls' there is 'unit icons' and 'army state'. Don't know when I'd ever use those, but good to have options. So maybe another could be added there for movement.

Default on would be friendly territory like right of way, shared map, water and your own territory. Default off would be peace, embargo and war. And because of speed penalty on right of way land, a toggle for that as well.

Or you could have a planning mode where your armies wouldn't start moving until you say execute.

Using trade embargo would work for me too.
