CoW 1.5

I want to see if anyone here shares my opinion. There are lot of things I like about CoW 1.5. The new doctrines, paratroopers, and expanded stealth options particularly stand out. That being said, it seems that for every new thing that I like, there is also a thing added I don't like.

I think the new damage sharing mechanic is awful. With the new speed penalty, they synergize together in the worst possible way. In 1.0, stacks of units would take damage, but when the condition of the overall unit got low enough, one unit would be removed, and the condition of the remaining units would increase. Kind of like condensing surviving units to increase efficiency. Now, individual units stay alive much longer, but the condition of the unit drops all the way to 50% before any casualties are incurred, and condition doesn't rise much even then. Because of this, all of my units that have survived numerous conflicts have low HP, and all have the speed penalty, making it really hard to use them effectively, especially when I have other new units that can move faster so these units just end up staying behind my lines and eating up upkeep costs. I would understand this if the healing mechanic was adjusted to heal units faster, maybe via a field hospital building, but this has not been added to the game. I usually just end up suiciding these units forward to make room for other units that aren't damaged. Can the devs add a option to condense units to avoid having a bunch of damaged and slow units stuck behind the front lines?

I also used to really like that multiple buildings would have numerous benefits, such as fortification providing defense and morale boosts. I guess it's a bit simpler now with individual buildings for everything, but it felt much more realistic and multifaceted to have buildings provide multiple benefits.

In terms of resources, I am constantly selling my iron, as I have way too much than I know what to do with. The only real use for it would I guess be for players who go for heavy tanks and railroad guns, but nothing else seems to cost that much compared to the amount of iron I'm producing. Same thing goes for goods. Rare materials are used in everything. I liked it best when rare materials were used for special things, like research and secret units, given the fact they were 'rare'. I don't know why rare materials need to be included in airplanes, I think it's remarkably out of place, but I'm sure this has something to do with resources balancing, so I guess I understand.
