"Crates": should they be kept in the game, yea or nay?

A couple of months after the introduction of the "crates" feature, and the accompanying "elite" units for which "blueprints" are made available through crates, I still see nothing to like about this rather odd addition to the game. I would like to put it to a vote here -- yes or no -- should crates and elite units be kept? Please keep your comments brief and to the point, and please preface your comments with a simple "yes" or "no."
