Creating Supply Chains

Introducing a supply chain feature in "Call of War" could profoundly enrich gameplay by adding strategic depth and realism. Players would be challenged to carefully plan trade routes, considering factors like distance and potential threats. Economic warfare would become a viable strategy as disrupting enemy supply lines could cripple their economies and military capabilities. Managing resources would evolve, requiring players not only to secure territories but also establish reliable supply lines for essential goods. Protecting these routes would necessitate naval escorts and strategic fortifications, fostering alliances focused on securing trade routes. Technological advancements in logistics and naval tactics could enhance supply chain efficiency and security. Overall, this feature would add realism, depth, and dynamic gameplay, appealing to those seeking more nuanced strategic experiences in historical contexts.

I had this idea 2 weeks ago, but i didnt know this forum existed, so yes i agree and hope this will be added.

I was thinking something similar, so i will ressurect this thread :)

How about we implement this by recycling the supply drop mechanic a bit?

We could get a new unit called supply convoy, its built in any city, its expensive.

You can only build one at a time.

Once built, one random own province within range (24h move?) gets a special supply drop icon.

The prov is already yours so you cant get the drop by capturing it, only by supplying it with the convoy.

Enemies can see the icon on the target prov.

This way building the convoy is not obligatory, but can be a lucrative, if risky, investment.

Wouldn't this make the market obsolete? Implying that you would be trading for those things it would be the same as the market just longer and more vulnerable.

This would not replace the market.

It would provide us with a risky, limited and a bit random way to improve our economy.

The market is good for exchanging resources in a much more controlled manner.

This is a feature I would very much like to have.

I would also like to see a feature called traffic capacity implemented if possible.

Currently there is no limit to the number of aircraft that can fly out of an airport at same time.

For example, 100 squadrons flying out of an airport at the same time is unrealistic, but in this game, it is possible.

Similarly, 10 brigades of tanks passing overland at the same time, or 10 units boarding transports at the same time at a port, would be unnatural.

In order to make such things happen, anyone need to be prepared like in operation Dunkirk.

Thats a nice idea!

I suggest creating a thread about it.
