Canada's leader has been absent long enough for the country to go Ai. (There are now 8 players still active)
The cretin sent off all his units on his only day in the game. They are landing at places like Rabat, Tripoli, and Dublin.
I would like to suggest that in the event of a player going inactive so too should units traveling to far off places all on their own. The AI should only be engaged in wars that are within its regional borders. All other units should be returning to the capital city.
Its really unfair on the players who remain in the game and are looking for a fair game to end up with these unexpected units attacking and causing havoc. In some cases they are taking the capital city and all of the prize money that is accumulating.

Wouldn't that make wars in the nuclear age too easy though? In late game (RPs especially) long-range wars aren't uncommon. Fact is, AI declarations of war are MEANT to be challenging, they are meant to be annying and difficult. It's just part of the game.

However, I agree that inactivity is a bitch.

Any capitol city left unguarded for IgnorAnt (IA) units to take, deserves the loss.

I understand what he is saying....Had several games where a player openly states in the newspaper that he declares war on all non-player countries AND sends his troops on long journeys to attack far off players. Just to F*** up the game for people. Then he logs out and never returns.
I believe the point here is that once the AI takes over the troops that are on those long trips should return home.
Now, the AI will start moving troops around the map but does NOT interfere with any troops that are on mach routes until the destination has been reached.
I agree with Whari...but also that any declarations of war should be the decision of the AI to continue or cancel.

Yes there's many things that players do on a map that's annoying. We get comfortable with our game plans and the general routine of how "normal players" play the game and the moment we get displaced outside of our comfort zone,we malfunction and freeze.
Point is, expect every game to have irregularities,it might not go according to plan or our play style.A good General will eventually take control of the situation, irrespective of "that's dumb a person don't play like that"...

No offense, but any smart player has a couple NB on standby within an hour distance from cores to deal w/ such a situation...it's still annoying, but is an easily solvable issue.
