Yes, the topic is debatable. But I don't know, I imagine that if in real life you deconstruct something, you can get something useful from it.
Deconstruction?
I've recently found that conquering AI nations or new players mean that they've built harbours in 'interesting' positions.
For necessity they need to be taken, but that saddles the conqueror with having to maintain harbours that he doesn't want, need or use.
So I would like to propose either a deactivation mechanic (like barracks, or railways in S1914) or the ability to deconstruct (with an appropriate timer (half to 2/3rds build speed?) to recoup resources (10%?)
I'm afraid I don't know how hard this would be to implement, and I doubt it would be easy, but I'd like to know what you guys all think

This isn't real life though. I mean, when have you ever heard of Algeria becoming more advanced and stronger than any other country and taking over the world? Or maybe a few thousand men with rifles somehow sinking a destroyer with said rifles.
Mess with the Bill, you get the scorn!
Point taken.
What I am missing in this thread: .....
ZERO, ziltch, noppes, nada, or ... NO feedback on the topic from devs.
So we are just agreeing amongst eachother...
I see what you mean, but unfortunately the Devs aren't known for replying in the forums, although they are known to read through them.
How would you guys think about implementing this particular feature? A full destruction on timer end, slow health loss, and would you want the structure to be disabled during the deconstruction phase?

As long as we can demolish all those unwanted buildings. (mainly the naval base) or shut them down!Kalantigos wrote:

But that would in some case require to fix it first... so I prefer both options.
And to answer your question; I really don't mind how I can do it, and how long it takes.
But HELL YEAH, I want it to be closed during construction. no more resources drains.
Ehehehe, them being known for it is not quite true because someone may have accidentally started a rumor that the devs don't look at the forums and just wait for the staff to pass idea's onto the devs. *cough*Kalantigos wrote:

Some devs to read even reply to the thread, atleast on other forums, but don't expect the next update will feture your idea, or at least some of it.

Once i posted, that the game is more frustrating than fun like it is atm cuz of many things(overpowerd airplanes, as more u conquer as less ood u have, not deactiveable naval bases and lots more), i got a very fast answer from german moderator: "When you dont like it play something else!" Just think about it
Oh my.

They can take the ship, kill the men on it, and make sink the ship from in. Obviously the game can't be real as hell, but this is not an arch game.Butter Ball Bill wrote:

Deconstruction, ok, with some ressources. What about trapping buildings ? With bombs or something ? Maybe no casualties but lost of goods invested ?

Do you mean ram the ship and board it like Greek naval warfare?Valwarrior wrote:

I think what he means is like waiting till the night covers them, getting closer to the ship and board it
Anyway something like this was the tactic of the italian Navy in WW1 and WW2: They took mall boats, like patrolboats of the river police, loaded them with torpedos got close to enemy ships and threw the torpedo into the water-low cot but maximum effect-big ships sink the same like mall hit when hit by a torpedo-and in the dark its hard to see those little boats, but easy to see the big ships...
Yeah, that's just a torpedo boat. The US had better ones that had a launcher on it rather than having to throw it by hand.Der grosse Diktator wrote:

True but the italians sank a lot of ships-including big battleships
DECONSTRUCTION and/or SCUTTLE FEATURE NEEDED
Simplest solution: a 'switch off' button like for the barracks.
Besides deconstructing/shutting down buildings, a scutttle option should be introduced for useless units.
They just consume stuff while never being put to good use.
Basically deconstruction and scuttling boils down to the same thing: being the supreme leader one should be able to decide what to keep or do away with.
We are most certainly not supreme leaders. I mean, I can't even name my armies so what hope do I have in disbanding them?

True-we can just accept it or play something else
