Just search destroy buildings on the forum and keep scrolling until the second page and you will see some threads about it
Then why did you invaded there instead of simply destroying his buildings with a few rockets or so?Undaunted wrote:

.. but if you have not much more besides your "Greyhounds", with what you would want to destroy all his cities full of "air factories ındustries harbours etc."?

Why do you want to destroy the buildings that you've captured? Just hold on to them. If you're planning on winning the war (which I assume you are since a lost war in COW usually leads to elimination) you're gonna get those cities back before to long, even if you briefly lose them. Buildings get damaged each time a city is captured anyway.
I captured cities but I havent enough forces to keep them and their old owners coming to get back with big power so what will I do with them ?eruth wrote:

just retreat then...it’s just one city, and then use some bombers, rockets, or long-ranged units to destroy the buildings thereUndaunted wrote:

for 1.5 version it needs only 30 min but needs some resourceswell i like that idea
but im used to con
so im pretty biased
I support the idea...but there’s one major flaw if you conquer a country you don’t get any new buildings if your opponents have destroyed it, forcing you to construct new buildings which will cost a lot of resourcesUndaunted wrote:

I don't support it because if people are going to be destroying all their buildings while retreating it turns high value areas (because of development) into just the same as the rest of the world. It messes up the balance of the game.
people mostly dont try to cover provinces they just hold units at the border and keeping to grow maybe people with this idea starting to play carefully and cover his mainlanderuth wrote:

My strategy for COW is to use fast units to penetrate into the enemy's core territory to disrupt their economy and force them to turn away from my land, then turn around and finish them off. I aim my units straight for their main industrial and economic system and, even without a destroy building option, their economic and production capacity get completely wrecked. The morale hit from a city being conquer then reconquered, as well as the direct damage from being fought over/conquered is more than enough to make losing your territories, even temporarily, a bad idea.
From a more meta perspective allowing destruction of buildings means that players will just destroy everything once they can tell the game is going south rather than leave it to the enemy. Realistic to some degree, sure, but it makes the game less fun because you never get to conquer good provinces with nice buildings. 1.5 massively de-emphasises the the need for many good, high level buildings in a single province though cause why would strategy make a game more fun, so I guess it would feel just about like any other 1.5 game.
Or maybe it takes some time to destroy buildings just like it takes time to build them, so if you are using fast units you might conquer the province with buildings intact. And some special buildings like industries or unclear reactors cannot be destroyed.
