Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the new icons but I guess they're better than the old circle / "X" / check-mark.

Diplomacy Icons
With the new diplomacy icons for active players and inactive players, it is hard to tell the difference. It was easier to tell whether a player was active or not with the old icons. You could see at a glance either by looking at the diplomacy screen or by clicking on a province.

AI player / unfilled slot = white guy
human player / filled slot = black guy
active player = green dot
inactive player = red dot
Hope that makes sense. It's also more consistent with symbols seen in other apps/programs and what we show in the mobile version. It also free's the monitor icon to be used in conjunction with showing the device usage, which fits much better there.

The dots are so small on my 23" screen at 100% zoom that I didn't even notice that they were colored dots.
Zooming more to see the colors is not something I want to do. I'm already zooming a lot just to accomplish needed tasks.
At increased zoom, i can see the colors now that you mention it but if you are going to use colored dots, I would like them to be much larger.
Increasing the zoom means less other data can fit in the viewable area. The ads area takes about an 1.5" strip of the screen already.
