Dissolving units

I think it should be possible to dissolve units.

The workforce of the unit should be added to your current workforce. Everything else should be lost.

we talked about it before, personally its best to build the units you need and use instead of spamming them and let them sit there. that's poor management right there. but yeah its a good idea...except losing the res you spent, if i want to trash a heavy tank at least lets sell the scrap to break-even.

what if some garbage units rebel to you, or you want to change units to a different strategy halfway through the game? Isn't that the point of prerequisite research, to start with basic units and specialize to different ones? How would you be able to get rid of the old units that you have no use for anymore, like basic infantry?

I have a mixed opinion on this one, seeing as it does create an aspect of management of future resources, but I personally would like an option seeing the multitude of units that are already in the game.

Simply use them...throw them in a grinder or something, make them fight a battle they will die whatever, so long as it have a use to further your goal. No unit is garbage it's how people use them is garbage, for example noobs say the militia is OP because they get a buff, and guess where they end up with...retracting their statements.

Sure we have infantry in day 50 but instead of dissolving them, let's give them a glorious death, or use them as province control or something, also in this suggestion we don't get our res back, so to heck with that we use what we have when we can.

Yes but you would dissolve garbage units so you don't have to pay upkeep on them or have to drag along slow units in an attack to suicide them.

I agree with Vindicator here. Just zerg the enemy with your useless men.

lol by the time my useless men get to the front the enemy has already been zerged with minimal losses. That's how I end up with garbage units piling up.

Then nuke them! What fun!

the problem is making units and not actually using them, that's counter-productive.

especially infantry in the late game where tanks is in the rage, simply use them it doesn't matter what happen.

Well, it would be nice if you could just disband a unit. In my first game I took over Canada & wasn't paying attention and built 4 ships on lake Ontario & Huron, which are landlocked. Yeah I know, pretty stupid. If I was in my army I would like to be stationed on one of those ships and then I could just fish all day.

Although you are unable to destroy them yourself, you could find an ally to do it for you.

Or pay attention for once...

OK well it was my first game (dot dot dot)

-.-

I really don't need to hear it from you. Disbanding units is a normal thing that is done in war there is no reason not to ask for that capability.

Another thing; you could actually go one further than disbanding units to destroying buildings. In the real world if you are sitting in a city with a lvl 3 air base with 2 units and you have a 20 unit enemy force bearing down on you, you first blow the air base up the best you can so the advancing enemy can't fly in a bunch of bombers to rain hell down on you as you retreat and then you scoot on out of there as fast as you can. I'm not asking for that, but it is what happens. Fortifications would take longer to destroy, but it does not take long to burn granaries, and blow up hangars and landing strips.

it is a normal thing, the destruction of buildings is already implemented somewhat by our ability to disable buildings if we do not want to pay the upkeep, as for disbanding units it was suggested before already.

one last thing don't spam posts, if possible do it on one post or edit your last post if its the last reply, don't want my notifications to be clustered.
