How would this affect gameplay though? Just aesthetics?
Dynamic View Range
Well basicly as far as i can tell (i may be wrong) But view range is constant no matter what terrain your in (on land) and so my idea is to have the view range change depending on the terrain your on. So using fields as the base, rate hills would have increased view (since you can get clear line of sight) and you have reduced sight in forests and cities (since you have trees and buildings blocking you view). But i'm unsure of mountains since you can get the clear line of sight on them to lowlands but cannot see the other side so i will leave that up to the people who reply to decide.
Thanks for reading! (This will probably be a small debate then end with no devs looking at and so the cycle continues)

This is actually an AMAZING idea! I love it! Might be a bit difficult to code in and keep the performance optimized but I really hope that this gets added.
I can't see it being very tough to code. It would be a similar Variable as the speed changes from province to province based on terrain. So the same idea would be applied to the view range. I too, like this idea as it along the lines of the realism factor that comes in with the terrain itself.
Though as I contemplate this more, I realize that the hard part of the coding would be the borders. If you have a unit in a plains region on the border of the mountain region do you give him sight range of the plain region across the border into the mountain region? And is there are way to code a modifier for when your view range begins to cross the province borders so you wouldn't have plains region sight into the mountain region? It is thought provoking nonetheless.
Well you know how your units reveal the "fog of war" (circle of light where you can see others units) is a units sight and so the terran would affect that and reduce it or improve it (see furthers or closer). Just a little something for realismpurplepizza117 wrote:

Oh, okay, that would make a lot more sense than what is today.
I think that the mountains should have a lot of view.
Tough to code though.
*Bump
Hopefully one of the devs will see this
