Elaborate Explanation of Espionage Mechanics

Bytro should publish an elaborate explanation about the mechanics of the espionage functions, which would answer questions including:

  • What functions, exactly, do intelligence, economic sabotage, and military sabotage spies do?
  • The likelihood of each action happening at day change (percentages per spy)
  • How the number of counter espionage spies and the number of enemy spies affects the rate of which enemy spies get caught
  • How you can spread out counter espionage spies to optimize spy catching efficiency (if there is any effect at all)
  • The effects of putting multiple spies (of same or different types) in the same province
  • How the province type (urban or rural) affects spy outcomes (if at all)
  • How spies are paid for (apparently spy costs don't factor into hourly revenue gain)

Let tell you all a little spy story tell me what you think.

This happened a while back, I was in a WaW game and one coalition were all alliance mates.

I noticed from the newspaper that they would do serious economic damage to a country before attacking.

Knowing I was next on there hit, list I set out 7 counter spies. Day change came and good news no eco damages. What was unusual when I checked the spy report it stated( I swear this is true) that one of their spy’s they set on me was caught and another spy DEFECTED that’s right I now had 8 spies. I asked about it in regular chat and no one believed it.

Has this ever happened to anyone else and is there a way to make it happen again. Free spy who could complain.

Delmarva pirate-ripping, running and hiding.
Walking contradiction, partly truth and partly fiction, taking every wrong direction on his lonely way back home.

Spy upkeep is required at day change or spies will desert.

Yes some spies that are caught will change sides and join you.

Bytro treats the mechanics of espionage like a state secret.
