Encircling the enemy should decrease morale

I've been wondering since encircling the enemy during a war cuts off supplies in real life, I was thinking, "Hey, this should work in this game!" When I did that, it was doing nothing! Here is what I believe encircling the enemy should do

(1: Decreases morale

(2: Has a higher chance of being quickly taken over

(3: If troops are being encircled, and they are surrounded, troop morale will decrease, making it important to avoid getting encircled.

Troop morale will be affected by getting into too many fights, or getting encircled/surrounded. I can see people disagreeing with this suggestion, but what do you all think? One last thing when troop morale goes to 0, they could surrender to the enemy, making it so that you will get reports saying "The ___ surrendered to the enemy!" The enemy can't use the troops that surrendered, they will just not be there. Again, I can see people disagreeing with this, so I won't be supprised if this doesn't get into the game.

I always got annoyed when he said that, but to be honest he’s kinda right if you think about it

That is a rather complicated system. The game would have to detect if a province is being surrounded by enemy troops. What is the definition of 'surrounded'? Each path leading out of a province centre has enemy troops on them? Do enemy troops need to be within a certain distance away? If the state of being surrounded increases revolt chance, does it also increase garrison strength requirement to prevent revolting?

This is a nice suggestion and would make the game more interesting. But I doubt Bytro would add that in the recent future. Too many questions and probabilities are generated. Having to implement troop morale on top of troop hitpoints that we already have...I don't know. Unless you are suggesting replacing hitpoints with morale (as if it's not confusing enough, hitpoints is actually called morale in older versions of the game).

It sounds like Crusader Kings. The morale system, I mean. I'm guessing that morale generates overtime, but if a troop fights multiple battles in succession, morale decreases drastically.

I'm not against your suggestion. I think it is cool, but it may complicate things up. And yeah, like you said, it's rather unlikely for this to be added.

I agree with Per5eu5, but i think instead of being surrounded, being constantly bombarded should lower morale but not lead to surrender, instead lower morale should make the units less efficient.

Currently the only moral in game is for the Provinces. To implement your idea they would have to change the way that combat is done. Adding moral would be good, but it adds another level of complexity to the game.

I agree, bt i was countering their statement about circling, with, instead, bombarding.

It would over complicate the game

Maybe if a unit is cut off without a direct land route to a city for more than 24 hours they should lose 10% health at every day change.
