Fog of war/field of view effects should be changed

I know this is probably working as designed, but why show your country and its borders as being visible when in fact, enemy units are not visible unless they are in the field of view of a unit? The way it works currently, you actually have less knowledge of enemy units' movement in your own country than you do in an enemy country because in your own country you can't see where exactly your field of view ends. It's absurd and needs to be changed. You should either be able to see all units in and near your country, per the field of view as currently displayed, or else the field of view should be displayed around units only and not be shown all around your country as if you had field of view there when you actually don't.

I see your point. But think about it. It´s not only your armies that have a field of view. Cities do as well (which makes sense). And anyway, I have to point out, in real life, how would an enemy army enter your country without you noticing. Somebdoy will notice them and report. It makes sense.

The past is a foreign country.

Every part of our country must give complete info about enemy armies invading, and we need an area with partial view around our controled provinces just showing the troops, without unit type or numbers.

As Russia I was being invaded and I did see the enemies only when they were close to my city :(

I agree, the army view is very short at best, and we can't even react until it's too late, but it should not be a drastic change.

We are actually in agreement here! I am arguing for the same thing - yes, we should be able to see armies in our country, regardless of whether or not they are in the field of view of a friendly unit. At the very least, we should be able to see that there is an enemy army there, even if its size and type can't be identified.

I just added the alternative that if Bytro don't want to allow that for some reason, then please just give us field of view around units only, so we can see what friendly territory our units can and can't see, and don't add a faux field of view around the country and its borders as if we can see that territory when actually, we can't. Because as things stand, it's the worst of both worlds. I have lost two or three provinces already in this game to forces I didn't even know were in my country even though I supposedly have a field of view there, and that is just plain absurd.

Yes, I totally agree on that! If there is any army in your country, you should be able to see that there is an army. Not the size, but the fact that it exists. I mean,in a real life situation, somebody should see it and report it back. An army can't go unnoticed.

I just lost ANOTHER province to an invisible army - a coastal province this time. In fact, this completely invisible invasion fleet has probably just cost me the game. I can't possibly have pickets in every one of my coastal provinces - I wouldn't have an army left for operations! This mechanic really does need to be changed.
