In the current CoW game, fortifications only provide a defensive bonus to the units placed at the centre of the Province. But fortification must also give defensive bombardment to nearby radius. Most historical forts included cannons, mortars and artilleries. A specific radius, like in artilleries and railroad guns, should be made in which a fortification can bombard. More the level of the fort or bunker, more radius it bombards and with more damage. Bunkers and forts must also give defense against bombers.

Imagine the fortifications to be buildings/structures, CoW classifies them to be Buildings. Even in Old forts the Cannons were not in-built. You can make a structure but it is upto you to Arm it, this was also what happens in the older ages

So I know L3 and above hide units. I dont usually use fort bunkers etc. but in the game I’m in now I’m being defensive. So my question is if scout units can reveal what’s inside the fort why am I building forts.
I’m guessing it would take take L3 ac and/or interceptors, but by the time I’m thinking of making an L3 fort most opponents will have one or the other of the above also at L3. And then there’s commandos.
Why forts? What can I do with them besides damage reduction
