Game Improvements

Hello

I've got a couple of suggestions for game improvement.

First - it would be a great feature if damaged units were allowed to be merged. If 2 or more units are damaged, they should be able to be grouped together to form 1 full strength unit (or 2 depending on the numbers). They would have to be at the same tech level, but it would go a long way to making the management of units both more realistic and enhance the game play.

Second - There should be some "discount" for developing technology of captured countries. Especially if you are able to capture a unit being produced. It makes no sense that the capture of a city building a unit that you currently do not have the technology to produce can be finished without some benefit to the tech branch of your country. The time and cost of the captured unit should be cut in half as a reward. Again, this would enhance game play and be more realistic.

Thanks

Capturing research would be *awesome*, I would go so far as to prioritize capturing research over resources. Why not make it a choice? Decide how you want to take a city:

1) Pillage as many resources as possible, destroying buildings along the way.

2) Steal technology, getting few (or no) resources.

3) Pacify the population, ensuring higher morale, at the cost of resources and/or research.

This could be simplified down to 2 options: Friendly take-over versus ruthless pillaging.

This could also be combined with doctrines. Maybe the Allies should be better at capturing technology.

I think it would also by nice to have weather in the game as it has so much to do with stratagy.

I made a thread called Weather Cycle. It talks about how weather and seasons could be added. You can check that.

Perhaps you could set your soldiers to this like fire control (pillage control?). You can do 'Militaristic' where effectively you go in and steal resources and destroy buildings. 'Scientific' Which doesn't take as much resources but takes tech instead. 'Agressive' which effectively is letting the troops loose to pillage and kill. And 'Kind' where no resources are taken but there is only a tiny moral penalty.
